DTC — Decisions That Shook The World
FDR and World War II

This is an interesting Discovery Times feature with Andy Rooney, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, etc., siding with FDR's pro war sneaky action. What if FDR was a Republican?

I suppose it's now OK to say about Pearl Harbor: "Roosevelt Lied, Sailors Died". After all, fair's fair. And in this case the charge is documented.

I think it was not worth fighting for liberating France and advancing into Germany for the strong anti-Americanism in these countries that was liberated by US, and these liberal countries should have been occupied by USSR (istead, we should have advanced into Poland and eastern European countries to liberate them which are pro-US today), but I think the war was still worth to fight whatever the background was, giving us military access today in Japan as a frontier against China, as well as against Russia (even after the cold war ended).

Cannot imagine Clinton And Carter believing they have credibility here. Rooney was there but is now spending too much time keeping the oatmeal off his chin. An excellent resource on this topic is Back Door to War; the Roosevelt Foreign Policy, 1933-1941 By Charles Tansill, Regnery, 1952.

Carter arguing for war is a hoot.....and sham. Just consider the source as morally superior (in his own mind) but bankrupt of common sense. Totally and completely.

FDR gave the CCCP 100 million or more slaves at Yalta.

It was a noble cause for the US to fight Hitler's genocide. But Saddam's genocide is OK I guess.
