Among several issues that have angered board members, Romero has committed to name a new ACLU office building in Washington, D.C., after Peter B. Lewis, an insurance magnate and major contributor, without consulting the board.
"I don't think it's appropriate for us to name anything after anyone other than a founder or leader of the organization," Marjorie Esman, a lawyer who represents the board's Louisiana affiliate, said in an e-mail message.
"We're not for sale, and I don't like to convey the impression that we might be

This is what we like to see: a faction fight between the hardcore nutbags and the more pragmatic nutbags!

I was hoping this was over something more substantial, like a conflict between atheistic purists and multiculturalists over teaching islam in the public school classroom or something.

It is awful that the ACLU's Communist message is being shoved aside by their new leader interested only in pushing the pro gay marriage, pro abortion and anti-religon message.

Can we just solve their problems for them by removing their source to taxpayer money and making them grovel for money like the rest of the PACs outhe there?

Romero has committed to name a new ACLU office building in Washington, D.C., after Peter B. Lewis... ...thus dashing hopes among all Leftists that the building would be named in honor of their latest and greatest 'hero': Stanley "Tookie" Williams.

I have always thought that socialists & communists were on 2 sides of the same coin--their goals are idential, but their one & only difference is how they wish to achieve them:
(1) The socialists want to use an evolutionary process (incrimentally, using the Congress via the Democrat's Progressive Caucus in the House of Representatives, for example), while
(2) The communists prefer using a revolutionary process (they want socialism NOW, they aren't willing to wait, & are willing to use massive violence & revolution if need be).

A Socialist is an extortionist and a Communist is an armed robber. A Socialist is merely a polite Communist.

"I don't think it's appropriate for us to name anything after anyone other than a founder or leader of the organization religious cult," Marjorie Esman, a lawyer who represents the board's Louisiana affiliate, said in an e-mail message." There, that's better. The UCLU is a religious cult, it should sue itself for forcing it's religious beliefs down our throats.
To: Socratic
Amen to that...but like I said, the goals of the 2 (socialists/communists as well as extortionists/armed robbers) are the same:
taking from one to "give" to another through the use of force.
Speaking of which, I'm listening to FOX News right now & they are showing a live shot of a crowd of useful idiots in NYC attending a John Lennon ceremony....singing his song "Give Peace a Chance". Disgusting.
