The closer Iraq comes to peace and stability the more hysterical will become the Democrats and their allies in the media. Victory frightens them to death. The New York Times in 1946 advocated pulling U.S. troops out of occupied Germany because of casualties caused by ex-Nazi guerrillas. Had Truman followed this idiotic advice Soviet Russia would have taken over all of Germany and then moved on the rest of Western Europe. The Times is fifth column for all seasons.
