Many of these made up names, which have no root in any African tongue, are slow child abuse. Real Africans have names like Desmond.
How would you spell Shaquita? Or, is it Chaquita?

According to my "New American Dictionary of Baby Names" Katrina is the modern phonetic form of Catriona or Katarina. It is especially popular with black American families.
