The same when a black hole does the eating. It gets stronger, and thus more able to pull in other objects. If objects where in orbit around the black hole/neutron star pair (they'd have to be very far out to have anywhere near stable orbits) their orbits would be disrupted, maybe they'd fall into the black hole as well, but unless they were more neutron stars or other black holes, it would be like the mint they give you have after a huge meal.
