Keep in mind that Time's "Person of the Year" is supposed to be the person who "most affected the news and our lives, for good or for ill, and embodied what was important about the year."
Given this criteria, I scratch my head over some of these nominees.

Rick Warren
Condoleezza Rice
Valerie Plame
Bono
Mother Nature
George W. Bush
Lance Armstrong

I cannot begin to express the immense impact that Melinda Gates has had on my life.

My money's on Mother Nature. The left is definitely on a "milk Katrina" jag, and this will keep that going.

Who cares? It's just a ploy to sell more Time magazines. I don't read it to begin with.

Times person of the year?
Who cares? As long as someone shows an interest they'll continue with their idiocy.

I just hope it's not the homely Cindy Sheehan. Can't stand to look at that ugly mug.
To: Lunatic Fringe
I predict it will be Cindy Sheehan.

It will be Mother Nature, without a doubt.
That will give Time, Inc. a chance to take a few more swipes at GWB and FEMA.

Rick Warren wrote "The Purpose-Driven Life." He's becoming something of a figurehead of a particular strain of the Evangelical movement.

I think he's the "Purpose Driven Life" guy... I have no idea why he'd be on there. That was published a couple years ago.
