Michelle Rodriguez Complains About Arrest (Hollyweird)

HONOLULU (AP) -- Michelle Rodriguez, a star on ABC's "Lost," complained after her arrest for drunken driving earlier this month that police were taking away her freedom.

Officers pulled Rodriguez over early on Dec. 1 after spotting her black Mercedes allegedly weaving down Pali Highway in the Honolulu-bound lanes from Kailua.

Another "Lost" star, Cynthia Watros, was arrested 15 minutes later on the same road when police saw her car also moving erratically.

Both allegedly failed sobriety tests. Rodriguez had a blood alcohol level of 0.145, nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08, according to documents obtained by KITV-TV.

KITV quoted court and police documents that said Rodriguez was "very argumentative" and kept interrupting the officer who was explaining drunk driving sanctions to her.

"I don't (expletive) belong here! Why don't you just put a gun to my head and shoot me! You've already taken my freedom! You might as well take my life too!" she said, KITV reported Friday.

The officer who took Rodriguez in a police car to the Kailua substation quoted her as saying "Just take my car and I'll walk all the way to the North Shore but don't leave me in the back of this car poppie."

Rodriguez' lawyer declined comment.

The actress plays police officer Ana Lucia on the hit ABC drama series filmed in Hawaii.

Let me guess, she's a Democrat ;-)

Way to go, Ms. Rodriguez. What can you do next, to embarrass your people?

I suppose she would have sued if they let her drive off the Pali...

She's lucky that there's no jail for bad acting, or she'd be on death row.

Uhh, isn't that what being arrested is all about?

I wanted to point out something that isn't apparent from this article.

The drive which she was arrested on, is a very windy drive down a mountain, narrow lanes at high speed. This is a bit dangerous when everyone is sober. This has to be one of the worst places to drive drunk and weave! She could have easily killed other people.

I believe that the non-threatening words that will most likely cause a cop to arrest you when he was going to let you go are, "Do you know WHO I am?"

Scratching my head over "poppie" but maybe this def from Urban Dictionary explains it:

1. Poppie

An enthusastic fan of "Pop Will Eat Itself" (PWEI).
often seen talking about said band, and currently explaining said band to person listening, because they may not have heard of them. (PWEI was around as early as the mid eighties, with a slew of sounds. Best described as a sampling rock band with political passion towards the end)

Michelle Rodriguez, a star on ABC's "Lost,"

Now the star description is a little bit of a stretch. While she is an actress on the show I think it's a little early in her career to call her a star. Although she certainly acts like she's a star.
