Your satire would have drawn much agreement from Christian readers of the 1960s
Christian readers of the 1960s appreciated poorly conceived and poorly written satire? I'm sure most of us tend to agree that Christmas has been commercialized, that secular aspects of the holiday now dominate, and I'm sure that most of us on FR agree that this is unfortunate. I'm also sure that most of us on FR do what we can in our own households to reverse this trend.
However, Good Ole Paul's ET story really isn't very creative.

I was a Christian reader in the 1960's and would have been just as perplexed by his incoherent rambling.

As he puts this poor little world in his rear view mirror, he might say a prayer for the soul of a nation that is so obviously hungering for Truth, yet still insists on worshiping tripe. I used to worship tripe. I've sinced changed denominations and now I worship sweetbreads.
To: SittinYonder
Ironically, Yonder, is that many who decried the commercialization of Jesus in the 60's are now trying to help Jesus break into commercials again. :-)

Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Viking Kitty/ZOT ping list!. . . don't be shy.

This had better be good. I was dreaming about the sacred white reindeer and preparing to build an altar to the snowflakes.

Well
Good Ole Paul, that'll do it.
The black storm clouds, they be a-gatherin' on the horizon.
And the thunder in the distance, a-rumblin'.
And an odor, an unmistakable smell a-nosin'.
...of ozoooooone. ;^)

So here's a picture of a bikini blond with a pancake on her head.

Perhaps - but I hardly think it zot-worthy. Methinks too many people read it too quickly and incorrectly assumed he was bashing Christians.
