West Virgina, Illinois and Oregon (isn't that Wyden's state) ought to start a recall NOW for these 3 traitors...Their pensions should also be lost and any hope for any government job EVER again lost!
Kick them out and put them in jail.
We don't have a "recall law" in IL. And IIRC from the CA fiasco, most states do not.
And personally I'm glad we don't. IMO recalls are Un-American in principal. This isn't 5th grade where you get a do-over. A person is elected and unless they commit some impeachable offense, they serve their term.
Durbin's a sick, evil, mean-spirited puke, but he was lawfully elected. We'll do our best to through his treasonous butt out of office in his next election.
You make it too complicated. Never use reams of paper to accomplish what can be done with a few ounces of metal. If they're guilty, that is......
Senators are not subject to recall. They can be expelled by the Senate but the chances of that happening are small.
The states involved don't have to recall their senators. The president himself ought to make a determination that these men can't sit in review of highly classified projects and forbid government officials from senate meetings where the three are sitting. The vast power that the three men welded...disappears overnight, and they would likely have to give up their committee status...and likely sit on environmental committees instead...with little status or money drawn to their state....and no special lobbyists bringing in bags of money to ensure votes on special projects. That is all that is required.
The question is...is President Bush fired up enough to direct a "no-discussion" order on these three gentlemen? I'm guessing that the three are sitting there in their homes during the holiday period and wondering just how far they will have to bend over....to make the president happy. And considering that GW isn't running for election....he holds all of the cards on this episode. If I were Rockefeller...I'd consider retiring as soon as possible...there isn't much to be gained via his position anymore.
