Well, I guess you can't beat somebody with nobody.

Strayhorn is saturating the airwaves during the Rush Limbaugh Show with her "tough Grandma" ads. However, I've seen nothing so far that suggests that she's as conservative as Perry.

I'm not voting for Perry again. That's the one definite thing that I can say. He has no substance as a leader. He just plays politics. Katrina and Rita, to his good fortune, gave him free face time.

I like what Perry has done as Governor; pretty much nothing. If there is one thing I like out of government, it is to stay out of my hair and out of my pocketbook.
I think Perry will crush her once and for all. Good riddance.

Keep the lefties out of the Republican primary, if you please.

Ann Richards on Steroids?

I am a socially conservative Republican, I am voting Kinky, unless some argument or circumstance alters the fact that Perry is a mildly retarded RINO and Strayhorn is a scheming Evil Genius.
I'd rather have an inexperienced professional malcontent and agitator hold the phone for 6 years than Strayhorn bust pretty boy in the chops and send Texas down the toilet.
I agree with precisely one-half of one platform plank of Kinky's, but that's precisely 100% more platform communicated than either Perry or Plankton-Keeton Lielikeher.
But that's just me...

I am always amazed at voters who think that a change in the incumbency of the Texas governorship will substantially change the direction of public policy in the state. The only way that might happen here is if the state lost its collective conservative mind and elected Democrats to all three branches including the Lt. Governor's office. The Texas governorship is designed to be weak consitutionally and putting either Kinky and or the mad grandma in there would not change much in the state. In fact, Texas has had their ilk in office previously....anyone heard of Pappy Lee O'Daniel or Ma Ferguson? Thanks, but no thanks. I will stick with Pretty Boy Perry.

She'll get her ample a$$ handed to her in the primaries. Will be almost as satisfying as watching similar blowhard McCain embarrassed in the 2008 Prez primaries.
Perry's real worry would be if Houston mayor Bill White ran on the Dem side (but I don't think that he will this time.)
To: Theodore R.
Given that Perry has the IQ of my dachshund, and the leadership of John Kerry, Strayhorn is a liberal, loud mouthed, fool, Kinky is worse and Bell is a left wing, crybaby, ass and those are his good points, expect one under vote from Ft. Bend County.

Carole Kreaton Strayhorn "tough grandma" act sounds nothing more than Ann Richards after a bad night with Molly Ivans!

"Our game plan is to turn the Republican primary in 2006 into the general election," said Mark Sanders, Strayhorn's spokesman. "We want everyone who wants to have a say in the future of this state. In order to do that, they need to vote in the March Republican primary." Strayhorn is encouraging Democrats to skew the Republican Primary towards weaker candidates. It is not likely a problem for Gov. Perry (as Strayhorn is such a loser and everyone knows it), but it may hurt down ballot conservative candidates if these Democrat Primary switchers try to mess around in other races.

Texas governor doesn't have much power; the lt. governor post... that's another story.

One drawback/worry is that ANYONE can vote in the primary. There were a lot of crossovers 4 years ago for local races. Some got mad when they found out they could only vote in one primary - they wanted to vote in both.

Strayhorn is a RINO and apparently nobody really wants to be married to her.
