MILWAUKEE -- At least 15 young people dragged a motorist out of his car and kicked and punched him, causing severe head trauma, after he honked his horn to get them to move out of a street, police said.
It was the latest in a series of mob beatings in the city.
The 50-year-old man was in critical condition Tuesday and it was unclear whether he would survive, police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz said.
Schwartz said the man was driving alone on the city's north side late Monday when he honked at the group of young people in the middle of a road.
"Instead of moving they surrounded the vehicle," and kicked and beat him, she said.
"They left him for dead and when we showed up he was lying in the street," she said.
Officers hadn't made any arrests Tuesday, she said.
It was unclear where the man was going or if he lived in the area, she said.

If it were the other way around, ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN would be updating the story every fifteen seconds in hopes of fomenting a riot they could cover.

It is pretty darn sad when you can lose your life for honking your horn at someone. Must have been "dissin'"them or something horrible like that!! What a crock this is....I think those guys should be horsewhipped at high noon in the public square of Milwaukee. That would stop a lot of this kind of crap real quick!
Was the vehicle unlocked? Could he not just step on the gas and run a few of them, as opposed to being dragged out and beaten?

Careful avoidance of ethnic information. Usually means a black on white hate crime. But I don't know much about Milwaukee. Who would you find in the middle of the street on the North Side?
He should not have been where he was without his Glock.
The driver obviously didn't recognize that he was past the point at which the paradigm of civilized behavior was still in place.
I think someone who is not smart enough to get the heck away is certainly not smart enough with a Glock.
wiscosnin = no concealed carry, no carrying guns that are unlocked and /or loaded in your car.
1. Lock doors.
2. Honk horn, loudly, lay on it.
3. When crowd surrounds car, and starts breaking window, FLOOR IT AND GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!
This would be one of those situations where I would rather be judged by twelve than carried by six.
When going thru "potentially unpleasant" areas, it's good to have doors locked, and be mentally prepared to run over a bunch of thugs rather than permit them to attempt to get you out of the car.
Sounds like this guy had inhibitions in the area of using deadly force to protect self from violence
Poor bastard probably thought that since he wasn't doing anything wrong, nothing bad could happen to him.
Gee, seems as if I read that the Governor of Wisconsin recently vetoed legislation that would have allowed law abiding citizens to carry concealed handguns. Too dangerous don't ya know.
