Bob Guccione, Sr., on the eve of final eviction from his East Side townhouse.......filed a new $250 million lawsuit against the current owners of Penthouse Media Group and his one-time financial adviser, claiming conspiracy and fraud.
Penthouse, founded by Guccione in 1965, once sold millions of copies a month and was seen as a wilder and less censored version of Playboy. But a variety of factors crimped its newsstand sales and there were widespread allegations of financial chicanery.
The suit comes just as a New York state bankruptcy judge dismissed another suit by the new owners of Penthouse that claimed Guccione had illegally absconded with some $4 million in cash, art treasures and furniture from the company and the spectacular 45-room townhouse on the East Side of Manhattan that he no longer owns.
The suit sought to force Guccione to return material that once adorned the East 67th Street office and home, which features the largest private indoor pool in Manhattan and prominent art work from world masters.
Bell wants Guccione to return a marble bust of Augustus Caesar, a Steinway Grand piano and various candelabras, carvings and statues. Guccione's new suit will do little to affect his eviction, since the home now is the hands of another financial entity that picked up the property in a bankruptcy sale when Charles Samel and Jason Galanis had temporary control of the company.
Samel and Galanis, as well as the current owners of the Penthouse Media Group, Marc Bell and Daniel Stanton, are all named in the new Guccione suit.
Guccione's daughter Tonia Guccione Andrews said Guccione would relocate to Connecticut or California. She said she expected the office phones to be shut off next week.

Have you ever heard him speak? He must have the deepest bass on the planet. I saw him on TV a few years back and every time he said a word you could actually feel the vibrations. I don't think I have ever heard another human voice that was so low. Is there a word for a voice actually below the bass range?

I used to be a SPIN reader back in the day...I stopped when Junior left the magazine. I had begun listening to Rush, and reading Junior's editorials would just make me scream. I'll give him this, though: He knew how to write, and could at least inform and inflame me reasonably. His mags regular AIDs columns, by Celia ?? were the best.

Oh yeah, they hate each other. I think Jr. was even cut out of the family estate some time back. Not sure what the problem was, but I think it involved Jr. going off on his own, and having the temerity to be successful at it.
