He's right about the Army Times. It is the most read newspaper by Army personnel though.

Not saying they don't exist and there may very well be one or two around here, but I still haven't met them.

That's true there are a number and the number ebbs and flows as does the rest of the US population. As Bush sides with them, they tend to side with Bush. When Bush gets distracted, they get upset.

I've let my subscription to the Marine Corps Times lapse.
It'll be mighty cold in hell before I subscribe again. Might cold.

"All Hands" and "Soldiers" are separate magazines. I think they are both DoD publications. Haven't seen AH since I got out. I've never seen it for sale.

Yup.I talked to a combat medic who had just come back from Iraq. He said everyone he knew, including himself, wanted to stay the course and get the job done.

Navy Times has been sinking for years. Pretty much just junk now, with a seasoning of vile anti-Bush "cartoons."
To: ArmyBratproud
You just found out the Army Times is biased left wing trash? You're not exactly Mr. Current Events, now are you? The only thing people used to buy those for is the pay charts. Ever since they started putting the charts online, I have no idea why people still buy the AT.

Lucky you! I left the coast guard before I intended to and on terms I had not planned because of this MF'er.
I was in line for a lot better job than guttersnipe. I was he best damn gutttersnipe the CG had! Youngest ever qualified underway watch officer they ever had, too. All ships, for all time. Yes, almost 20 years later, i'm still pisssed at him. He s4it on my record, my abilities and a lot of what I stand for. I had a friggin academy appointment, and he was jealous/

The best thing about the Army Times is that it is strong, soft, and thoroughly absorbent.

Unfortunately, I met one last year. He's a senior Army Intelligence Warrant Officer, Russian Linguist (as am I, and I thought we'd at least click on that level: no such luck) doing real-world intel and counter-narcotics work.
I met him at his brother's (my best friend) funeral. He did nothing but rail against the "illegal war" and how "stupid Bush is" and how he couldn't wait until Kerry put him out of office, and how Bill Clinton had done more for the military than both Bushes and Reagan combined.
Having served under all of them plus Carter I knew he was full of sh**, but I was very polite out of respect for my buddies parents and widow.
I was saddened to hear him rant, particularly in light of the fact that his brother (in whose honor we had gathered) was as staunch a Conservative and life-long Republican (not easy for a Northern New Mexico Hispanic), and was truly a great American (ex-Cavalry Scout, Pathfinder, and Nuclear Security expert), and one of the best friends I've ever known (plus, we're both Raiders fans!!).
They're out there, and sooner or later some reporter will find 'em.

I have a good friend like that. He is on his 1st deployment to Iraq right now. Pray for his safety and enlightenment please. By the way, he is reaching out to the Iraqi people already. Great guy (although he was raised a Liberal). He is doing his duty. He could have gotten out of it, he re-enlisted.

I frankly couldn't believe how terrible Iraq Stars & Stripes was while over there last year. Chock full of AP, Reuters, and NYT trash.
The last months there it was no longer available in the chow hall newspaper racks during dinner, and I was secretly hoping that someone was dumping the daily delivery into the Euphrates.
