Pierce Brosnan has attacked President Bush for starting "a savage war" in Iraq and harming the environment - reports The Mirror.
The former Bond star said: "I have nothing against Republicans but this government has made decisions which we are to suffer the consequences of for a long, long time.
"You want to have faith in your leaders but it's very hard to have faith in President George W Bush."
He added in another interview: "Look at what he's done to the environment and this savage war that has started."
The Irishman admitted he risked a backlash like other stars who have spoken out about Iraq. He told the New York Daily News: "You speak up as an actor and people will shoot you down hard and fast.
"But you don't speak as an actor. You speak as a man, a working actor with a family."
The 52-year-old star also insisted he was no longer angry about being dumped as James Bond, he said: "Too many people get bitter about this game."
I bumped into him and his wife once on central park south while waiting for my sister to finish the marathon. He's the most photogenic man I've ever seen in person, but he's as dumb as a stump.
You're dead, Mr. Brosnan.
That's normal for the entertainment biz.

But of course its easy and more fun to pile on the USofA.
President Bush's poll numbers are up.
When that happens, the dems ring a bell and Hollywood salivates.
I guess I can cross him off my list now.
This gov't, Mr. Brosnan, is cleaning up the decisions made by previous administrations.
It is only short-sighted individuals who cannot understand the need to destroy your enemies before they destroy you.

That does not surprise me. He was a non entity before the part of "James Bond" was handed to him. He will most certainly return to being just that without any backlash by the movie going public to his asinine views.

the irony is that this is likely the most humane major invasion in the history of the world. We literally bombed japan and germany back to the stone age, something which undoubtably improved the civilian populaces willingness just to stop fighting, period. The trenches in world war one ground up more men daily than all military casualties in this invasion to date. As you go back further in time, the savagery is generally worse, often much worse. Would this actor-person care to name one war that was 'less savage' than this one?
How might the roman republic have handled the problems in tikrit? remember carthage subsequent to hannibal's defeat there by scipio, anyone?
Geez, another person who makes a living pretending to be someone they are not and having someone else write what they say, now thinks what he says is important.
Maybe these comments are calculated. He can blame his lousy career on the dreaded backlash for speaking out. "A chill wind is blowing in this nation"--Tim Robbins.
I've noticed over the years that some people have an extremely fortunate talent to be able to read words someone else writes and regurgitate them before an audience or camera in such a way that people will pay to see this process. I'm not entirely sure how much independent thought or ability to think that talent requires.
