Don't ignore the culture at home. If the parents value education, the kids are more likely to do well.

If the parents are vapid, pop culture loving sub-morons, the children are doomed.

Too many parents today are LAZY and let the little brats do whatever they want. These parents do not DISCIPLINE the little brats. And there is little sense of pride in earning good grades.

principal has to please the parents. And that makes a world of difference
In half the communities in the US parents treat the kids like the king and queen . I have friends teaching in "white" communities . The parents INSIST that their spoiled brat kids ALWAYS get excellent grades and that they are the best of the best . God forbid the little brat EVER be disciplined , they come with their attorneys .
