Washington -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco called Thursday for the dormant House Ethics Committee to open investigations of several members tied to lobbyist Jack Abramoff, including two Northern California Republicans, Rep. Richard Pombo of Tracy and Rep. John Doolittle of Rocklin (Placer County).
In a letter to House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., Pelosi also called for Congress to pass sweeping lobbying reform legislation after it returns late this month. She also called for the House to change the new Medicare prescription drug benefit, and to repeal oil and gas industry tax breaks and liability protection for makers of avian flu virus, legislation Democrats cite as examples of laws Republicans passed to cater to industries that are major GOP contributors.
Republicans reacted angrily to Pelosi's comments, saying they were part of a partisan attack that fails to acknowledge that Democrats, too, have been the beneficiaries of Abramoff's largesse.
The letter to Hastert represented an intensification of Pelosi's efforts to paint the Republican-led Congress as dominated by what she calls a "culture of corruption.'' At a Capitol news conference, she used that phrase 14 times, showing that Democrats plan to use the spreading Abramoff scandal as an issue to try to win back a House majority in the November midterm elections......

yeh I'm torn as well.....my office unfortunately has MSNBC on during the day and yesterday they had Lany McDonald who said eva braun pelosi was way out of line on this one...
I'd be curious to know how much money Nancy has given back or given to charity. To bad she doesn't understand that we get the news from other sources than the lame stream media and we know that she is as guilty as those she wants "probed."

Bigger Question: Why do people here continue to post SF worthless liberal hack articles on a Conservative Republican website? It would be like me posting all the liberal hack Dem articles from the Miami Herald. Who gives a #%@* what the SFChronicle and MHerald have to say.

You mean it would look any different than her usual "deer in the headlights Botox-stretched surprised look"?
It is possible that deep in the recesses of her orbits there are working muscles. If she were to become shocked the working muscles would apply pressure to her paralyzed external facade. The results could be that her already bulging eyeballs could pop right out of her face.
I believe Ms. Pelosi must have seen the same thing - if her eyebrows were raised any higher, they'd be on the top of her skull!
