Sen. Durbin: U.S. Deserves Honest Leaders
50 minutes ago
America deserves honest leadership in Washington to replace the current Republican-dominated government, Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois said Saturday in the Democrats' weekly radio address.
The concentrated power of the current GOP-controlled Congress and executive branch has produced "a culture of corruption that is preventing government from dealing with the real needs of our nation," Durbin said.
In his broadcast, Durbin made several references to civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr., who was slain in 1968 and would have turned 77 on Sunday.
Durbin said that in his last book, King wrote: "'There is nothing wrong with power. The problem is that, in America, the power is unequally divided.'"
That's true in Washington today, Durbin said.
"Powerful corporate special interests control the agenda and people who don't have paid lobbyists really don't have much of a voice," he said. "To these power players, the challenges facing America are not problems to solve, but opportunities to exploit."
Those challenges include the lack of affordable health insurance, dwindling pension plans and rising energy costs, Durbin said.

"Culture of Corruption" is all they got. It ain't gonna fly.
May I be the first to say Turbin Durbin should set an example by resigning and then crawling into a hole.
Sen Durbin, Have you returned all the donations you got from Abramoff directed PACS yet?
Keep playing that broken record, Durbin. It's been working so well for your side.
Translation: America deserves Democratic leadership in Washington because otherwise the Democratic Party is relegated to the waiting rooms and coat closets and their socialist agenda can't advance. Corruption doesn't matter if it's Democratic corruption. Bill Clinton's administration made Howard Taft look like St. Ambrose.
DirtBin? You've gotta be kidding...
There, that's better.
That's why your crime syndicate is in the minority headed for extinction, Dick.
...in order to form a more perfect union...
We need honest bouts of sodomy in the Oval Office. And politics without political machines and influence peddling like they have in Massachusetts and Chicago. Yeah, right.
An honest leader?
Like the pro-life, devoutly Catholic Durbin?
As if his slandering of our men and women in uniform wasn't enough, he had to display his utter hypocrisy this past week in the Alito hearings.
Right up there with our Senior Whale from Taxachusetts as a phony hypocritical blowhard.
You wonder how these pompous frauds can look at themselves long enough in the mirror to pack on the pancake make-up. And how in God's name do they sleep at night?
Nazis, Gulags, Pol Pot. This is what Dick Durbin called the American military. And now I should listen to him??? Ever? Go back to Al-Quada Mr. Durbin. You're no longer wanted here.
"Culture of Corruption" is all they got. It ain't gonna fly.

Total losers. When I heard the other day about Nazi Pelosi calling conservatives, the Culture of Corruption, I could just see her looking in the mirror at at the liberal dems -- hell, they invented corruption in politics going back to Tammany Hall. Of course they continue their playbook move for their kool-aid drinkers, but accursing their opponents of EXACTLY WHAT THEY DO.
Only two things keep the libs alive in Washington --- the MSM and very stupid and selfish voters.
What is Durbin's relationship with the corrupt Chicago machine?
LIBERALISM- THE CULTURE OF HYPOCRISY
>Sen. Durbin: U.S. Deserves Honest Leaders<
Does this mean that Durbin is about to tender his resignation?
I suppose he'll be calling for the complete replacement of our military being they compare to Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot.
