Those in government should be the first ones charged.

Since when is advocating bringing criminal charges "violent overthrow"?

I think there are more important national issues than turning some 11 million illegal immigrants into felons too.

I think it is pretty much in the top 3 for me.

I was counting votes on the other side.

It is of little consequece because it is still a Republican bill that would convert 20 million illegals into felons.

I agree that it is an interesting dynmaic, but I think it would be political suicide for the Republicans to pass an amnesty bill. There is too much opposition to it by the American people. If marketed right, it is possible to pass a tough bill, yet still make it sppealing to the "Hispanic" vote. It just needs to be argued correctly.

A TEMPORARY guest worker program is one thing, eg Kyl/Cornyn, but amnesty, eg McKennedy, is another.

This is exactly why Republicans get the reputation as being in bed with Corporate America. When will they learn.

It won't make it in the final version as a felony Ben, the reason the democrats voted against the amendment is so they along with you apparently could throw it in everyone's faces about how mean, harsh and stupid those Republicans are in the House.

Btw if it were up to me I'd keep it as a felony, it's the only way we're going to get illegals outta here.

I hate to tell you this, but you "round em up and deport em" boys don't have a political leader.

Even Tancredo has acknowledged that the illegals can't be deported.

You need to get with the program.

"Downsize the Illegals" is the new mantra.

"A TEMPORARY guest worker program is one thing, eg Kyl/Cornyn,"

Six years isn't temporary! The anchor babies will make sure of that.
