Angered by a Supreme Court ruling that gave local governments more power to seize people's homes for economic development, a group of activists is trying to get one of the court's justices evicted from his own home.
The group, led by a California man, wants Justice David Souter's home seized to build an inn called the "Lost Liberty Hotel."
They submitted enough petition signatures - only 25 were needed - to bring the matter before voters in March. This weekend, they're descending on Souter's hometown, the central New Hampshire town of Weare, population 8,500, to rally for support

Isn't the irony of this something to cheer about? Who knows? Maybe if this succeeds, Souter will decide to retire from the Supreme Court. And Bush would get to name his successor.

"Most people here see this as an act of revenge and an improper attack on the judicial system," Kurk said. "You don't go after a judge personally because you disagree with his judgments."
Nonsense. This is not revenge, as the individual doing this was not a part of Keslo v. New Hampshire. This is making these idiot judges realize what evil they inflicted on the populace by granting government such power as to steal land from people to give to others. It's bad enough the government steals my money to give to people to lazy to work, now, they can steal my land, and give it to people too cheap to pay me what it would take to get me to sell.

correct me if I am misguided, but I believe "Kirk" was the other "Main Street Republican" that voted along with Charlie Bass(T for turd) (Rino, NH) against drilling in ANWR.
I don't live there, but I can go pretend that I do, by showing up at Town Meeting.

Wouldn't that be sweet -- then he would have to remove himself from the case and perhaps some sanity would return and that damn case overturned.
Disgusting how the "for the little guy" liberals screwed so many of the little people.

MIDI - HOME ON THE RANGE
Oh, give me a suite...in this lovely retreat
At one time it was Souter's home
It's close to the lake...memories we will make
From his mouth he's now drooling foam
This hotel is so nice...in the bar, we'll have Seagram's on ice
Poor Souter is gone...he thinks he's been done wrong
Perhaps the next time he'll think twice
It's lovely in Weare...where the air's very clear
A wonderful New Hampshire town
Three votes took his land...and now he can pound sand
Condemnation's our new favorite noun
This hotel is so nice...in the bar, we'll have Seagram's on ice
Poor Souter is gone...he thinks he's been done wrong
Perhaps the next time he'll think twice

There is a way to impeach Supreme Court Justices. Why isn't Congress doing its job? It is Congress isn't it that would start impeachment process?

No one is above the law: especially Supreme Court Judges. Actions must once again have consequences if this nation is ever going to mean anything again!
