There's word that former Wal-Mart Vice Chairman Thomas Coughlin will plead guilty later this month to federal wire fraud and tax evasion charges. The Wall Street Journal reports the deal calls for him to plead guilty to five counts of wire fraud and one count of tax evasion. A court hearing on the plea deal is set for later in January, according to people familiar with the proposed plea agreement he has struck with prosecutors.
The #2 man at the world's largest retailer left the company early last year amid accusations that he'd misappropriated as much as $500,000 from Wal-Mart through fraudulent reimbursements and improper use of gift cards. People with the matter say federal sentencing guidelines call for a sentence of in excess of two years.
If something went wrong while George Bush was in a Wal Mart, whose fault would it be?

Clinton: Cover employees
Senator pushes for Wal-Mart's contribution to workers' health plans, but is unclear whether she took that stand as retailer's board member
January 26, 2006
WASHINGTON -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton wants Wal-Mart to contribute to health insurance for its employees - but can't recall if she pushed for worker benefits during six years as a paid board member for the nation's largest retailer.
(snip)
Asked if she had advocated better benefits while serving as a board member with Arkansas-based Wal-Mart from 1986 to 1991, Clinton replied, "Well, you know, I, that was a long time ago ... have to remember," adding that "obviously I believe every company should" contribute to benefit plans.

I knew there was a reason I despise Wal-Mart so much! I've always wondered how, as a conservative, I can dislike a store so much, even as I shop within it! Sure, their golden pipeline between American wallets and the Chinese People's Liberation Army comes to mind, sure their, well, forget it. But now I find out Hillary Clinton was on their board? Hah! I'm gonna keep hating that wretched hive of evil each time I'm buying cheap plastic trinkets within it! Argh!
Hillary Clinton has had a memory problem on many occasions over the years. Maybe if you are the World's Smartest Woman you just have to purge your mind of inconvenient facts in order for your super brainpower to run unimpeded.
Now you know one of the reasons some fear Hillary. What if she could get Wal-Mart to support her in 2008? I've seen puff pieces in the Wal-Mart associates magazine on Dick Cheney and Democrat Senator Blanche Lincoln from Arkansas.
Good business practice is to support both parties and Wal-Mart practices it to my dismay. Hillary was on the board for a reason. Her husband was the governor and Sam Walton wanted to keep his bases covered. See how it works.
Coughlin had to resign when he was discovered to have broken my company's rules. They apply to the top people, too. He was involved in many things at the company and near the end he promoted "diversity" in the company, making sure "sexual orientation" got added in,etc.
I heard that in addition to the Super WalMarts, they are going to open stores called Micro WalMarts. These stores will only sell their goods not made in China.

Big Labor, Wal-Mart and Hillary

Heck they could just open a kiosk inside each Wal-Mart for that...
I swear, Hillary! says "Well, you know" more than any human on this earth.
[Note: I apologize for using the words Hillary! and human in the same sentence.]
LOL
Man, that'd be a Black Hole of culpability.
< |:)~
This is that "brilliant" woman the MSM and lefty moonbat kooks want to be president. roflol!
"You know what I'm talking about." lol!
Only because her husband was governor and she was cheap insurance to keep the state government off their butts.
"You know, Im not sitting here as some little woman standing by my man like Tammy Wynette . . . And, you know, if thats not enough for people, then heck, dont vote for him."

"Well, you know, Tim, I dont think that you either rule it in or rule it out. I think that, you know, depending upon circumstances, its something that, you know, the American government would have to, you know, consider. But, for goodness sakes, I think we are a very long way from beginning to have that conversation, if we ever have to have it. But I dont believe in having any president of the United States or anybody, you know, in a position like Senator McCain and I in the United States Senate, you know, saying we would take anything off the table. But before we get to that question, lets try to, you know, deal with the many other possibilities."
