YOU are the one confused. So let ME straighten you out.

"Western news reports or sites" have a very good idea  where Pakistan is and and about their importance as an ally. And for them INDIA was/is/and always will be the enemy and the culprit. The pathologically anti-Indian BBC is a classic example. It isnt that the Brits have no knowledge of India whatsoever after having ravaged India for two centuries. Its just that those dhimmis are every bit as much born liars as their Muslim counterpart they chose to befriend. For the last fifty years the Brits (and along with them the Americans) supported their Muslim allies in Kashmir. According to them it was always "Indian atrocities" on innocent Muslims. No wonder Hindu genocide never made it to western press (not a good thing to embarrass your favorite ally) . They encouraged/cheered/lauded every despotic dictators to carry out genocide of Indians/Hindus in Kashmir, Pakistan, Bangladesh and elsewhere. Nixon and his (blood thirsty) henchman Kissenger made it a cornerstone of their foreign policy to befriend every one of the most murderous-despotic regimes on this planet. Their press and media very much echoed the sentiments of the Western government.

Things were going so well for them until three things changed.
1. Rise of China's economic and military might to challenge the US.
2. Rise of India's economic and military might  as a counter weight.
3. The Muslims turned the tables on the west. When the West least expected they were struck on their back on 9/11 (and on7/7). And suddenly the West realised they had one more enemy at their gates.

Terrorism was "third world problem" until one fine day the Muslims turned on them and struck their very own @ss. Now that the Muslims have set their @sses on fire their "chicken little" western governments are suckering for our support. No surprises their media have for the moment toned down the heavy anti-India rhetoric. They are now making India friendly noises after having slandered India for decades. Fact is, we need the West to fight terrorism as much as we need Bangladesh to give us nuclear technology. We dont need them, they need us.

Consider this:
One-third of the world's terrorist attacks takes place in India. India has lost 80,000 people to terrorism the largest anywhere in the world. Not one of the ever made it to the western press.

See post # 7.

And stop trying to see the world only by way of a drinking straw poked through the distorting smokescreen you've created of your own rather tawdry racist bigotry, hesperophobia and prejudices. It's not working for you and your mind, your inherent decency, which despite yourself always shines through your smokescreen - and your potential for greatness as a full-blown member of the Family of Man are all tied up, shackled and handicapped.

Please G-d you will go to America and do your PhD there, if for no better reason than to in future have a clearer world view from a wider perspective than that you are presently self-limited to. If you do go, I will be at home for most of the next six months and hope to meet you there and break some nan and drink some chai with you.

Blessings - Brian
