Governor Tim Kaine of the southern U.S. state of Virginia says President Bush's "poor choices and bad management" have left the federal government unable to serve the American people... The governor also blasted the Bush administration for its handling of the new Medicare prescription drug plan, which he said was poorly planned.
Mr. Kaine says Democrats across the nation are leading the way on reforms in such areas as energy and ethics for lawmakers.

Was this guy freaky or what, that eyebrow was stuck up on his forehead for minutes at a time....
the guy scared my puppy. I was playing with her and I stopped to see his speech, Lillie (my pup) looked in the same direction as I did just as the gov. lifted that eyebrow (and subsequently froze it there for 51 seconds)
and she squealed in terror and jetted out of the room.
Then just when she thought it was safe to come back in the room, she turns the corner looks at the TV and who was there??
Nancy Pelosi was on with her deep set eyes in that skull, Lillie was horrified, I think she had a mild heart attack.
Dont worry, Lillie (yellow lab) is ok, but good Lord --- those 2 are some freaky looking folks.
and I'll be honest Pelosi scares me a bit when I look at her.
No kidding. Not only devoid of solutions, but the "there is a better way" started to grate, because he was being very coy about what it was.
He started out with an example of the "unemployed worker"...did he think people didn't just hear the president mention the 4.5 million jobs that have been created in the last three years?
They think we're stupid and I'm getting sick of it. And for those of you who elected that putz....PAY ATTENTION!!!
Q. How do you fix the Democrats' image with religious voters?
"I don't have to strain to establish a (religious) connection. All I need to do is talk about where I came from and where I am now. And there are millions like me. I often say in a roomful of Democrats, `What made you a Democrat? What made you politically active?' It often has to do with religious and moral convictions."
Q. But there's been a hesitancy among Democrats to talk about that.
"In this (recent gubernatorial) campaign in Virginia, (winning Democrat) Tim Kaine found a way. It wasn't a matter of his advisers telling him, `Go out and talk about religion.' Tim Kaine happens to have a story about his mission work in Honduras, and how it changed his life. So he talked about that. We all have our own stories. Especially in the South. I always quote (evangelical writer) Jim Wallis, who said, `Where would we be if Martin Luther King had kept his faith to himself?' We all need to ask ourselves that question."
The Kaine Record "When Kaine talks to voters or the media, he enthusiastically details what he describes as his personally pro-life, pro-gun, and fiscally conservative leanings. There's just one problem: None of it appears to be true."

And I have a plan.
To repeat.
Never a solution.
The sounds of Democrat voices, their thoughts, like the painful noise of fingernails scratching a chalkboard.
His slogan, "there is a better way," sounds very much like Lurch's campaign in 04, "I have a plan."
Only problem with either, they won't ever reveal it and demand they be elected in order to find out.
It's easy to repeat you know a better way, a bit harder to actually show you do.
"There is a better way.."
Ok, what the hell is it?
Better Way, Third Way, Fourth Way, Fifth Way, New Improved Way.... It's all the same old pile'o crap. It's their way or no way.
Obviously an appeal to the more centered and/or pious in America. It will completely piss off their base as far as I can tell.
It's a joint Kaine/Biden plan. A plug in every scalp, and botox in every forehead.
This plan is not a plan of leadership it is simply a statement of bitterness, born from their inability to win elections and consiquencialbly assume a leadership role
That's a scary thought! You're probably right but...
It actually doesn't seem that way to me... but then again, I'm one of those 'fundamentalists' that Rick Warren and other socialist gospel ecumenicists diss.
He must have used John Kerry's speech writer. :)
Your dog is a very good judge of character!
"It will completely piss off their base as far as I can tell."
And the true Christians will reject him as a secular hypocrite which is really what he is.
Exactly. OR it's "I have a Plan"
His idea of the better way is to bend over and grab the ankles.
