Corzine picked Zulima in spite of the knowledge that she has a dozen traffic tickets, three suspensions of her license and even two warrants for her arrest for disregarding the tickets on her record.
But that sort of crap is normal for Democrats. Zulima is currently happily ensconced in her new plush Trenton offices, making sure the laws are enforced.

Lying about one's education is indeed cheap and tawdry, and merits dismissal. My only complaint is that these things don't get the same press exposure when a Democrat is involved. For example, how much coverage has the NYT given to the Democratic Party operatives in Milwaukee who slashed the tires of Republican election workers on the eve of the 2004 elections? Then there are major liberal columnists such as Paul Krugman and Maureen Dowd have repeatedly been caught in flat-out lies, not just partisan spin, and do so with impunity. Indeed, they win awards.

I really don't see some fundamental breakdown in the system that needs to be addressed over this rather commonplace non-event.

Does anyone know (1) if Bush personally had anything to do with this appointment; or (2) what this guy's role actually was? Was he upper-level, mid-level, low-level? How prominent was his position at NASA?
POLICY?! He was simply enforcing the AP Style Manual on NASA's web site - here I thought journalism school would have been adequate for a JUNIOR PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICER.

People needs to realize that most scientific principles are "theories" because to prove them as fact would take many centuries. The data does indicate that the Big Bang is how the universe came into existence, but since it would take thousands of years to prove it as fact, it is still called a theory. It doesn't make it any less believable.
Don't give me that "we're better than this" nonsense. This is a non-story. Some kid lied on his resume, got caught, got fired. He wasn't a power player, he wasn't appointed directly by the President, wasn't confirmed by the Senate. He was just a guy willing to lie to try to get one of the thousands of jobs swirling around any given administration.
If this was a kid in a Democratic administration, the only thing newsworthy about the story would be that he was actually fired for lying. And even then, the New York Times wouldn't give a damn enough to cover it.
So no, it's not a matter of "being better than that". It's a matter of honoring the leftist media's glaring double-standard. And I won't do it. This story is irrelevent, and unworthy of any serious person's time.

The MSM keep referring to him as a "presidential appointee" but I have been unable to confirm or deny - he was somewhere on the public affairs ladder below Acosta, deputy assistant administrator for public affairs at NASA.
