Every time a Bush 41 administration official opens his yap, I'm reminded of the incompetence that allowed Hillary and her husband to capture the White House.

Maybe Brent Scowcroft will chime in soon, too.

Fitz mudt have some other angle - he knows saying this odesn't help the administration.

OTOH we are polarizing too much - Strategically, Cheney's people should have handled this with the press but it's not a big deal - they are gonna lose a few new cycles that the Administration could have made better use of but if the Administration doesn't complain then nobody else really has a right to.

I don't understand something; there are reporting requirements to law enforcement and I would assume there's a reporting requirement to one's boss if one is the Vice President of the United States but where the @$*&?! is it written in law or code or regulation that there's a reporting requirement to the News Media?

I once heard a statement (I think it was in a movie) to the effect that there is no such thing as the Public's Right to Know...

There may be a right to say or print almost anything but where is it written that anyone has to tell them - the News Media - something that they can print?

How is it that this incident violated the "public's right to know"?

Here's a thought on this whole situation.....

The Vice President shot a private citizen. Not the other way around. Contrary to what the media might think, they have NO right to ANY information about the medical condition of the patient. Unless the patient, his family or his designated spokesperson choose to release this information, it is PRIVATE.

In my humble........

there is no such thing as the Public's Right to Know...

Maybe McClellan's response to the first question about the shooting incident at yesterday's press briefing should have been "None of your *&%$ business."

You're absolutely right about that. In fact, without the patient's authorization, the hospital giving information about his condition is a violation of federal law (HIPAA).

What a douche bag he is. I'd rather listen to Marlin Perkins talk about wrestling with El Tigre.

Normally, one waits to notify next of kin, and that might take some doing with a 78 year old man.

Marlin Fitzwater didn't handle himself too well in his Ali G interview.

Q. Was it embarrassin’ workin’ as a secretary? Did it have the same kind of … stigmata? Like bein’ a male nurse?

It is difficult for me to discern any difference between Bush 41 and Clinton. Their foreign and economic policies were identical. Both of them sold America out.

I kind of hate to mention it but Dick Cheney served as the Secretary of Defense from March 1989 to January 1993 under President George H. W. Bush. Does Cheney affect you that way when he opens his yap?
