A movie rental service launched yesterday will beam new-release, high-definition, pay-per-view movies in 29 cities, including the metropolitan area, providing yet another alternative for movie viewing.
MovieBeam, developed over four years by The Walt Disney Co., will broadcast the movie to an electronic device that can store the content for future viewing at $3.99 for new releases, $1.99 for library titles and a $1 surcharge for high-definition movies, the company said.

Here is the model that will succede. Me download a flick, copy to cd/dvd to watch on my big scren TV at my leasure. Cost $ 8.00 to $10.00 per movie download. Any other model = failure.

I think the service sounds kind of interesting, tho' you won't catch me forking over $200 for the box. Might put a dent in the Netflix model.
