I owe you nothing but contempt.

Kiss my ass.

Ladies and gentleman, I've pinged you here because you were involved in conversation with Servant of the 9 in this thread after he alleged that Chuck Colson was still a despicable criminal and that the Apostle Paul was a mean-spirited heretic. I figured you might want to see the end result. Not only were you part of this furball, but before I have my crew chief paint a little red star underneath the cockpit, it needs to be a confirmed kill, and that requires witnesses.

Let's begin with Servant's rarified and witty response to my request for evidence to support his charges:

I owe you nothing but contempt. Kiss my ass.
So9

Servant, why exactly do you owe me contempt? You made charges, and I asked you to back them up. I didn't do any name calling, I just held you accountable. You did not provide a shred of evidence to back up any of your charges. Not one shred out of Colson's 32 years in Christian service, not one shred out of the 27 books of the New Testament.

If someone simply holds you accountable to deal in truth, and you consider them contemptible, what does that say about your character and intellect?

Here's two pieces of free advice:

1. Next time, don't bring a knife to a gunfight

2. Hit the silk before those flames get to the main fuel tank.

Now I'm off to find my crew chief and a bucket of red paint. Happy landings!

Well, I'm afraid that I didn't ride to the sound of the guns.
But at your ping, I've returned.
And while Mr. Colson might not be any angel (what honest Christian is?),
he's surely brought forth acts and deeds fit for repentence over his crimes.

Here's a link to what I'd nominate as the most under-reported law that was
co-sponsored by Teddy Kennedy.
Because the MSM knew it would portray the KEY (and conservative) supporters like
Colson and Dubya as decent, caring humans:

Danforth would be dangerous if anyone listened to him.
The guy could put Ambien & Lunesta out of business.

A soporific drone that can only be outdone by Angela Davis.
(I know, I was in a crowd that she almost put to sleep at UCLA at the noon hour!)

Thanks for the link, and for the insight. The media template is to protray conservatives as so "tough on crime" we couldn't couldn't care less whether these guys are assaulted. Nothing could be further from the truth, of course.

If you were actually a Christian instead of a talker, I might bother.

What sort of weak-minded Christians have you tried that on that you actually think it will work on me?

I consider it a great compliment to have a bigot and a liar such as yourself question the value of my Christianity. If you approved of me, I'd be worried.

Remember to relax your knees before you hit the ground. I hope you enjoy kimchee, it's all the farmers around your destination will have to feed you.

I consider anyone who has followed the injunction to give all they have to the poor and follow Jesus to be Christians and all others poseurs.

I haven't, and I don't think you have, but at least I'm not hypocritical about it.

In all seriousness, where do you get your ideas about what Christianity is? You seem to have many ideas about what is in the Bible that haven't been influenced in any way by the actual text.

For example, here you've confused a command to one individual with a command to all followers of Christ. Jesus is speaking with one young man in Matthew 19. First Jesus tells him what he must do to be saved, and then only after the young man asks what else he should do, Jesus says he should sell all his goods if he wants to be "perfect." Then, he discusses the fate of the rich with his disciples, and though He commends their own vows of poverty, he does not say it is essential to saving faith, and he says that "With man this [being saved] is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Compare that with Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus in John 3. Nicodemus was one of the richest men in Israel, yet what does Jesus tell him he needs to do to be part of the kingdom of Heaven? "You must be born again."

Though charitable giving is an absolute essential for Christians, the standard you are applying is one their Lord has never given them, and is therefore worth nothing. It is every bit as silly as saying that one is not a real Buddhist unless he dons a saffron robe and shaves his head.

And here's the best part: You condemn Colson for being "judgemental." Physician, heal thyself.

Please actually make yourself familiar with Christian doctrine before commenting on it. I think it's only reasonable that you do so.
