The only drilling I'm for is in my Senators heads to relive the pressure on the walnuts they call brains.

"While we have all been well served by the bans on new coastal oil drilling for the last 25 years, these important protections are increasingly threatened," said Rep. Lois Capps, D-Santa Barbara. "Enacting legislation that provides permanent protection for California is essential." I NEVER, EVER, want to hear these F'n people bitch about the price of oil again. NOT ONE PEEP.

If you Californians have a scintilla of common sense among you you will vote these b@st@rds out.

...In addition, California Democrats propose shutting down all hydroelectric generation in the state.

And in a related move, California lawmakers propose making the exhalation of carbon dioxide a criminal offense.

Why doesn't President Bush open these areas, including Alaska and the Gulf for drilling, by Executive Order, just like his predecessor closed some?

Then the whole state of California will become a 'sanctuary' like the Monterey Bay. In spectacular mission creep, proponents of stopping offshore drilling took the federal act banning it and turned it into a make work project for the environazis. They are shutting down almost all use of the Monterey bay and are instituting plans to protect the ocean by eliminating farming and logging operations in the watershed basins that drain into the bay. The sanctuary is so out of hand it now stretches from the Farallon Islands to Santa Barbara. We do NOT want to go here, believe me.

I live on the beach in S. CA and couldn't disagree more. I admit that I would like a 20 mile exclusion (view) but only if drilling methods can still extract from this zone.

And .. the group fighting this is the rich liberals who do not want to see oil rigs out on the ocean.

Guess where the oil is ..?? 200 MILES OUT TO SEA. Has anybody ever known of any person who can see 200 miles ..??

So their argument is stupid - and it's just an excuse to keep us from having our own oil .. and it's because the dems WANT THE ISSUE OF NO ENERGY AND THE HIGH COST OF OIL - instead of the solution of drilling for our own oil.
