Scary article...but, most of it I agree with...

I am not so sure that Republicans are as prone to have the war in Iraq keep them from voting Republican..or staying home.

I think we have more stick-to-itiveness than that...plus, the Vietnam War memories are still pretty strong...and we wouldn't want these troops to come home as the result of a retreat...instead of a mission accomplished.

The rest...I can see his points...

I'm almost afraid to post my opinion here because there are freepers who condemn any of us for fearing the results of a Democrat controlled House. We go from Bush bots to trolls in the blink of an eye. LOL

We live in South Carolina, surely one of the most conservative states in the country. Nearly all our friends are conservatives and haven't ever voted for Democrats and won't start now. But they may stay home.

There is a lot of dissatisfaction among convervatives we know, mostly with regard to spending and the way Republican Congressmen have handled themselves. Frequently I hear they are sick and tired of our side just collecting paychecks and not defending the administration or the administration's policies. (We have Lindsey Graham who probably helps fuel that perception here).

I also hear that they don't want our side to get down in the gutter and get ugly, but they do expect SOME defense of the WMD the president lied charge, etc. Darned few Republicans defend that and when they do, they don't do a good job. We're sick of it.

I'll never stay home or vote Democrat. But lots of people will do either one and aboth of them are death for us in '06. And if they stay home, we're going to have to live through the impeachment of President Bush.

All I will add is, the jihadists are laughing their heads off right now.
