These guys need to get a hobby or something.
Uh oh. That jeweler better come through or they might not be able to come up with the reward money.
Isn't hiring hit men against the law everywhere?
Here is another cartoon:

I'm sure Qureshi has a fatwallet, not to worry . . .
I was a clerc once and I say all radical islamic clercs should be shot or hung.
Yes, this was a strange one. This guy is obviously not afraid of being treated like Theo Van Gogh. What I can't understand is what suddenly happened to all the liberals who quoted Voltaire, or whoever, when they smugly said, "I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." They've all disappeared. When was the last time you heard a lib quote this?
Does any one man, let alone a cleric in Pakistan have a million bucks to fritter away on such foolishness?
You know what he can do with his stinking fatwa!
Maybe they've got it, maybe not.
Just how fat IS his fatwa?
Amongst civilized peoples, yes...
Google it if you've never heard of it.
Here's a sample from a Friedman column:
In February 1982 the secular Syrian government of President Hafez al-Assad faced a mortal threat from Islamic extremists, who sought to topple the Assad regime. How did it respond? President Assad identified the rebellion as emanating from Syria's fourth-largest city Hama and he literally leveled it, pounding the fundamentalist neighborhoods with artillery for days. Once the guns fell silent, he plowed up the rubble and bulldozed it flat, into vast parking lots. Amnesty International estimated that 10,000 to 25,000 Syrians, mostly civilians, were killed in the merciless crackdown. Syria has not had a Muslim extremist problem since.
His fatwa is SO fat that his neck looks like a pack of weiners. :)
FATWA??? I always thought it was a food dish at the house of Kabob
Fatwa is a legal statement in Islam, issued by a mufti or a religious lawyer, on a specific issue.
Fatwas are asked for by judges or individuals, and are needed in cases where a issue of fiqh is undecided or uncertain. Lawsuits can be settled on the basis of a fatwa.
It is vital that a fatwa is not based upon the muftis or lawyers own will and ideas, he must render it in accordance with fixed precedent.
Today, fatwas have limited importance in most Muslim societies, and are normally used only in cases of marriage, inheritance and divorce. The importance of a fatwa depends on its acceptance among most people, and if people don't care about it, it is in reality powerless.

Putting a bounty on a criminal is still OK, I guess. So is execution of a criminal for a capital offense.
Remember, Islam is not just a religion. It is also the lawful government -- at least as far as Islamists are concerned. Islamic law supercedes laws made by men.
To them, a decree like this is not a "hit" contract, but probably an execution order for a criminal whose been tried and convicted in absentia.
Obviously, I don't believe this is right, so don't bother to flame me. Just trying to offer some info that I picked up about how Islam is not just a religion. It is what makes it so scary, as far as I am concerned.
