David Gregory, Unplugged (Gregory afraid to be interviewed about his tantrums)
Hugh Hewitt ^ | 2/18/06 | Hugh Hewitt

Posted on 02/18/2006 10:35:53 AM PST by frankjr

" [T]he debate playing out in the blogosphere, cable airwaves and on talk radio pits the Vice President against an allegedly left-wing, overly cynical, prissy White House press corps in a tizzy because it wasn't the first to know and angry because it hates the President and Vice President anyway. "

That's exactly right. And it comes from NBC's David Gregory.

Gregory goes on to announce that this description is "nonsense," but of course Gregory has not allowed himself to be questioned outside of his network. He doesn't return calls and he won't make himself available for questions about what appears to be his deep seated hostility for the vice president and the Administration.

A professional would have calmly assenbled the facts and asked specific questions from McClellan. Gregory's overheated demands to know the president's "feelings" about the incident revealed a great deal about Gregory's bias and his talents. Soxblog suggested in his 2/15 post that those who know Gregory say he is wrongly judged on his meltdown this week, but unless and until Gregory is as willing to answer questions as he is to pose them, we can assume that what we saw is what he is.

Gregory is now caught up in controversy and he's both stonewalling and trying to change the subject.

This cover-up has the appearance of impropriety.

Q: What time did Howard Dean call David Gregory?

Q: Did Dadid Gregory take Howards call?

Q: Did David Gregory act alone, or at the behest of his master?

Q: Why won't NBC News give their own people a fair shake?

Because I realize that this message will never be posted on your weblog, I've also posted it on freerepublic.com.

You should email it to him as well.

If you believe an accidental shooting by Vice President Al Gore would not be met with the same press scrutiny, I think you are not being honest with yourself.

I can understand why Gregory went off on McClellan for his remark about the camera not being on.

It was embarrassing and humiliating to be razzed in front of the rest of the presstitutes.

If NBC ever did fire him, he'd be hired quickly at CNN...

I hate to say it, but I'm afraid FoxNews would hire him; if not as a reporter, as an analyst!

You'd think the networks would realize that they have a ratings blockbuster on their hands in presenting "American Asshole" -- which would be a survivor series of all the journalists (talking heads (assholes)) in the media.

If you believe an accidental shooting by Vice President Al Gore would not be met with the same press scrutiny, I think you are not being honest with yourself. Have you Googled transcripts from the Clinton administration at the height of the Lewinsky scandal? The pursuit of information at the White House is often tense. We push hard for it.

Ha! Does the name Juanita Broadderick ring a bell? How hard did NBC push for that information? How long did NBC sit on it before revealing it to the nation? After Drudge leaked it? After the vote for impeachment in the Senate was over? Yeah, right, talk to me about that episode again and this time tell me NBC don't stink.

Email to MTP since Mr Dip Grandstander will be a "guest" tomorrow.

Mr Gregory;

Most Americans felt your behavior at the White House this week was childish, emotionally hysteric and out of control. Don't you think you owe the American People an apology for the many mistakes you made this week in losing control like that? Don't you think this weeks loss of professional control makes it impossible for the American People to ever take you seriously as a "Journalist" again? Mr Gregory your conduct raises serious questions in most Voters minds about your ability to continue as a White House Correspondent for NBC. Don't you think you need to offer NBC your resignation so the News Department can close the loop on your lost of control and move forward again? Mr Gregory, do you realize what enormous damage your childish behavior has done to your profession and the Journalistic Credibility of NBC news? Mr Gergory, don't you think you need to quit hiding from the Press and make a complete and honest acknoweldgemet of just why you lost control. Mr Gregory, does the fact that you are married to a former Clinton Administration Layers and DNC activist influence your coverage. Don't you think your fundamental conflict of interest between your job and your personal life make it impossible for you to be taken seriously as a journalist?

I really wish I could. I suspect they are now refusing to post anti-Gregory posts. In the meantime, they have NBC interns pretending to be from cities and towns in the Heartland singing his praises. If only that comment section accurately reflected the ratio of those pro and con Gregory. I submit David the Diva would be in the fetal position on the floor sobbing.

Ever since I first saw this guy, I've called him Monkey Man:

I heard that Gregory secretly desires to be married to Helen Thomas in hopes he will inherit the old bat's sharp mind when she finally heads off to that big leftist cesspool in the sky.

Peeked at his blog. I don't usually watch NBC News, so I wasn't sure who he was.

These media blowhards all seem to be cut from the same mold. Arrogant, condescending, and quite subjective.

They should suspend his White House Press pass and teach him a bit of humility.

I love this one post from a Dem who speaks for the entire pack....

David,
You were absolutely correct in your suspicions! Many of my friends in Iraq and Afghanistan dies because of the aggressive nature of this cabal. America exploited the Arab people in the name of Israel! Now the cabal has started spying on its own citizens. You must keep fighting the cabal so that the true transformation can take place in America.

...must be Cindy!

What is he hiding?

What did he know and when did he know it?

The American public deserves answers now.

He need s to stop the stonewalling.

Is the top brass at NBC involved in the stonewalling?

They won't post your comment if you use profanity. You didn't use the "F-word" did you? You know..."Fox News".

I like G. Gordon Liddy saying (in flowery prose) that the last time he'd seen
a performance like David Gregory's was when his (Liddy's) daughter
was two years old.
