it was the fact that Dick Cheney did not come forward immediately and tell the almighty news services of this country that he had mistaken his buddy boy for a giant quail. Except that they did; the local press was called first thing in the morning. So all of their girlish hysteria is about the fact that some local guy got the scoop, instead of them.
This is an interesting story up to a point, its the vice president after all. If your VP shoots someone, or vomits on some foreign prime minister, I'm sorry, its interesting for about 5 minutes. Its worth a couple of jokes, and its worth a moment to pray for the guy who got a face full of buckshot.
But then thats it. Beyond that, I'm not interested. If you're going to waste a lot of ink and paper on this story, you've lost me. I'm much more interested in finding out when our guys will be crossing the Iranian border. And if Cheney will be taking personal charge of that mission.

Covers a lot of bases, such as the post-Watergate desire of reporters to be STARS! instead of, well, reporters, as in people who report the news.
Guess they don't teach that part in journalism school anymore.

What a great editorial.
Pity no one will ever read it.

Are the Democrats and their liberal operatives THAT desperate to play on a tragedy that involves two men who can work it out between themselves without the drama of comparing this waylaid grouping of pellets to a front page news story that MUST be explained to voyeuristic journalists who have nothing better to do than carp like magpies over a crime that was not committed, an act that is insignificant in its long-term outcome and a follow-up that is between two hunters and no one else's business, especially all the Woodward, Bernstein and Cronkite wannabes who are salivating at the possibility of being a STAR! Yes. (Great sentence!)

This is no doubt a Dick Cheney conspiracy/cover up. He tried to do away with Whittington like the Clinton's did away with Vince Foster! Where are our media mavens when we need them? It is time they uncover this dastardly scheme!

Here in Germany I am unable to get CNN (which is not really a problem), but have you people seen CNNI?
There ratings are so bad that they got people moved over from BBC and are using old style BBC graphics on their screen. It's pathetic.
Two weeks ago I heard a CNNI reporter admit that their average viewer watches CNN for 21 minutes a week. That's only three minutes a day!! And that is the average, which means there are many people watching for much less than 3 minutes a day and CNNI is still counting them as "viewers".
LOL!

Does anyone else (besides myself)have the impression that our Royal Dinosaur White House Press Corps was actually hoping that Harry Whittington would die?

This is the same MSM who were prepared to defend to the death, the need to save one death row prisoner, from his deserved punishment "cause he wrote a few books for children".
He was convicted for murdering 4 people and the press treated him with undying respect while treating Vice president with disdain and churlish anger.
A Pox on the whole bunch.
Good Post.
