They've been looking for Bush's version of the impeachment story, and they haven't found it. They're so desperate, they're now lurching toward his VP.

What they don't understand is that, no matter how un-PC it is, the fact that the victim didn't die, and isn't claiming Cheney intended to hurt him, will make this a one-liner. It's something Letterman will joke about forever because he hates Bush, but eventually people just won't care. (They hardly care now.)

It really is astonishing. Remember how we used to glom on to every Clintonian outrage (Monica, Kathleen Willey, Juanita Brodrick, Chinagate, the Rose Tree billing records, Whitewater, John Hwang, Charlie Trie, Jim McDougal's "heart attack," Ron Brown, that female government employee who was found dead in her office with excrement all over the walls, the W-88 warhead, the Los Alamos security breaches, the Escalante National Park, the 800 FBI files, the pardons, etc., etc., ad nauseum, ad infinitum) wondering when one would generate some heat within the MSM, and it never happened? All we got was story after story about how his approval rating just jumped another five points?

And now we have a situation where the entire main-stream media, lock, stock and barrel are dashing off as one body, as a single corpus, chasing every single remote opportunity, no matter how feeble, no matter how laughable, in a mad rush to find something to hang around this president's neck.

It's really mind boggling. In the long run, it's going to ruin the MSM, change it forever. It'll never be the same. Unless, of course, the actually can find something that sticks.
