Swinney--it seems to me that Senor Bush should not be talking, at the moment--he should be listening--to Americans. Poll after poll after poll show that the rank and file American people, in ever increasing numbers, want our borders closed and secured.
That's a load of crap, and that's why people are eternally perplexed on this issue.
It's important in this forum, and important near the borders...but that's about it.
If you are going to believe in polls (which we generally and unilaterally discredit, unless of course we agree with their findings), immigration is considered to be an important issue by roughly 5% of the America people.
