Boyington Shot Down
American Spectator ^ | February 21, 2006 | Thomas Lipscomb

It sounds like the University of Washington student Senate is struggling to make some progress. After turning down a memorial to a notorious World War II Congressional Medal of Honor awardee, alum "Pappy" Boyington, they are now considering a more general memorial. At least this time they are getting it all wrong in a different way.

The real problem seems to be the students' "carefully taught" inclination to "massification" -- the tendency of liberal institutions, in the nocturnal twilight of Marxist collectivism, to insist on memorials to classes of people, not individuals. The kiddie Senate is now trying to figure out just how to word a memorial resolution that will be as "inclusive" as possible -- in other words, one memorial for a class of heroes.....[more]

The only people more disguating and repulsive than these self-important, ungrateful brats are their parents who obviously raised them poorly. None of them deserves the freedoms and privileges of being an American.

Scarborough had this on tonight. At the University of Washington, they have a monument to alumni from the school that fought for the Abraham Lincoln Brigade. So it's okay to fight with the Communists in the Spanish Civil War, but not Boyington.

Here's hoping So Cal and every other Pac Ten school kicks some Huskies butt.

These little spoiled brats have fallen into the same trap as those oh-so-intellectual French. I.e., "we're just to moral and sophisticated to ever countenance something as terrible and boorish as WAR!

So their M.O. in time of crisis is:

Placate

Supplicate

Capitulate

and then:

Abdicate.

Just like the French.

The kids are well into their endeavor to create a classless society via the University's peoples student government. Once government by the proletariat is established someone has to lead. So much for a classless society.

Actually, "disguating" is a pretty good words. It defines what they do as the ugly words come out of their mouths.

Of course many in their movement think that war with Japan was unnecessary Japan had a true claim to Hawaii. If we had capitulated the islands to Nippon, the Japs would have been happy and the war averted from all that loss of life and property. But noooo. The USA no other desire(fostered by Roosevelt) than to kick Nip butt all over the Pacific.

You know, there's something very beautiful to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Here fell they who we honor and remember, yet would extol with honor if we were to know them again.

Yet when you go to the Washington Cemetary and see the endless rows of crosses, they all stand together in unity, but each one commemorates one man and his action.

When you try to group things that should not be grouped, you lose something. We like to think our beliefs, our hopes, and our loves are what we fight for and what makes us individuals. To discard those who took it upon themselves to act so that they would one day become our heroes demeans what they accomplished and what they stood for in so many ways.

It's not that they would seek this recognition, but rather, that we should grant it.
