...commentator Keith Windschuttle, writing in the Australian as Howard's published interview became headline-making news, noted: "...[T]he response to the Danish cartoons demonstrated that, even when Muslims go on violent rampages, burn down embassies and, in Britain, march with placards threatening death to their fellow citizens, many people regard this as somehow understandable, even acceptable, since we have no right to judge another religion and culture." He referred to Howard as a "cultural warrior" and pointed out that, in Europe, statements like the Australian leader's "have seen government ministers in several countries condemned by their colleagues," with the result that some had "lost their jobs." Windschuttle concluded: "Howard's comments may signify that a line has finally been drawn in the Western political mentality."

Why is Cultural Warfare to say “Hey you immigrants if you don’t like our culture, Why did you come? And if you don’t like us as we are, Why don’t you leave.”

This is not warfare, it isn’t even abusive. It’s just common sense.

Actually, such a statement by Aussie muslims makes it clear that they have no intentions of assimilating. Otherwise, why would they see this as warfare?

Australian Treasurer Peter Costello criticized what he called "mushy, misguided multiculturalism." …Costello observed, alluding to Muslims who advocate adherence to sharia law (religious law): "There is one law we are all expected to abide by. It is the law enacted by the parliament under the Australian constitution. If you can't accept that, then you don't accept the fundamentals of what Australia is and what it stands for."

I think this an even better quote from the article.

The Canuks could learn from this guy.

Hopefully the end result of the present clash of cultures is not the same.

Excuse me, but we never enforced our cultural prophecies on the Indians.

Islam is still genociding in Sudan and in many other places, by the way, so get on with the "cultural program".
