Clinton Says Bush Adviser Obsesses About Her and '08
New York Times ^ | February 28, 2006 | JENNIFER MEDINA

ALBANY, Feb. 27 — Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton took a swipe at the White House on Monday, saying that Karl Rove, the president's political adviser, "spends a lot of time obsessing about me."

Mrs. Clinton's comments came during an interview with an Albany radio station, after she was asked about a new book that quotes Mr. Rove as saying she is certain to be the Democratic presidential candidate in 2008.

"I don't know where he gets his information from," Mrs. Clinton said of Mr. Rove during the interview on WROW-AM. "If I were thinking about this, I'd say, 'Why are they spending so much time talking about me?' "

In "Strategery," a book released on Monday by Bill Sammon, a White House reporter for The Washington Examiner, Mr. Rove is quoted as calling Mrs. Clinton "the dominant player on their side of the slate."

"Anybody who thinks that she's not going to be the candidate is kidding themselves," Mr. Rove is quoted as saying in the book. Mr. Rove is also quoted saying that he believes Mrs. Clinton would have a tough time in the general elections because of a "brittleness about her."

When pressed to add more about her strategy and future, Mrs. Clinton demurred, saying that she was focusing on winning re-election this fall.

Republicans, Mrs. Clinton said, are hoping "that all of their missteps, which are now numbering in the hundreds, are going to somehow be overlooked because people, instead of focusing on the '06 election, will jump ahead and think about the next one," she said during the radio interview.

A spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, Tracey Schmitt, said, "Senator Clinton would be better served if she spent less time flattering herself with perceived obsession and more time focusing on her job."

The junior Senator from New York is not worth obsessing over.

She flatters herself by thinking Mr Rove does. He came up with this idea on one of his lunch hours. Anyone on this forum could have done the same.

That picture of Hillary is the cure if you take to many Viagra. One look and its gone, along with violent vomiting.

Yeah, it's such a stretch to think she might run. Like you said, I'm sure Rove had to spend about thirty seconds on this one. Sounds almost as if the Hildabeast might be the one who's fixating (on Rove).

typical feminist tactic - when you have nothing intelligent to say, claim sex bias.
of course when you consider the cource, she WISHES he (or any virile male) obsessed over her.

Did the paper include the full quote? I'm asking because the rest of Hillie's statement's a howler, too. Something along the lines of Rove spending more time thinking about her political future than she herself does.

What a whopper!

Agreed on the above ... however, it is worth a reminder, every now and then, that Tubba has NEVER LOST AN ELECTION in which she entered.

Recall that Rush Dimbaugh said: (a) that Tubba would never run, (b) that the Cuomo family controlled the New York State dim-0-crat party and that included the choice for US Senator - and that would not be Tubba, and (c) that he, Rush Dimbaugh, would critique Tubba's senior paper from Wellesley during his talk radio program - a commitment for which he reneged.

Defeat at the polls is not a wish, it requires focused-like-a-laser action; in this case starting with the fine people of New York State.

I see she is attempting seriously to control her anger. Wonder how many times a day she is hypnotized?
