Media coverage of polling results often neglects to mention the self-interestedness of the sponsor, and John Zogby is a leading enabler.
As Zogby himself acknowledges, the repute he derives from media polling helps him sell his services to more self-interested clients. The lucky groups end up with the Zogby brand name attached to findings that advance their agendas.

The poll was funded by Le Moyne Colleges Center for Peace and Global Studies, which received money for the project from an anonymous antiwar activist.

I read the article on Zogby's military polls last night. My immediate response was one of skepticism, specifically the article's claims that the soldiers were "interviewed" to get their opinions. Who in their right mind thinks that our military allowed such interviews to take place, especially in Iraq, and during a war?
