"Protect and Serve" was printed on the side of LAPD cop cars in the 1960s when they were the most thuggish gang in America.
It's always had an ironic ring to it.
Remember this.....Shows like "The FBI" and "Dragnet" were served up to us every week with scripts, set presence, and finance from the FBI's Hooverites. I was sold an awful lot of crap in my early youth. I shop more wisely now.
