Over a century ago the ideal was a full figured woman neither too fat nor too thin. My mother, God bless her soul, was never thin but she was beautiful. I don't think a man today would date or marry her because of the fetish about where a woman's figure comes in. As I said, men have to widen their horizons. There are lots of pretty women around and not all of them have the anorexic twiggy look that's in fashion today.

Close, but Who or what created the Ur-ideal of woman? Is it the result of historical cyclicity, or is there a deep instinctual imperative from which the perfect notion of Woman flows?

My own theory is that human nature is a sublime confluence of the animal and the Divine, made manifest in the bodily appearances of male and female. It is the latter that is most celebrated.

Not an original idea. Check out the Song of Songs.

***Over a century ago the ideal was a full figured woman neither too fat nor too thin.***

At that time a fat woman was considered healthy. A thin woman probably had TB, worms or some other serious health problem.

A century ago women were forced out of nessesity to work and to work hard, and to rely on their husbands, the latter being extremely important. Most women these days (at least the ones I know) are self centered, self righteous, selfish and focused on no one but themselves.

If I was fortunate enough to meet a girl who would work as hard as someone did from 100 years ago, and who knew her role in the family as they did 100 years ago, and who wasn't so stand offish or stand alone I-can-prove-I-can-do-it-myself feminazi types I would probably like her character too.

These days everyone is supposed to take a backseat to women. To hell with all of them.

There is nothing wrong with a woman getting an education and nothing wrong with them being smart. In fact I like that stuff. In the same breath though happiness comes when you are loving and doing something nice for someone else out of your own care for them. When that mutually happens then things are the way I want them to be.

Odds of that happening are slim to none and its not nessesarily the guy's fault.

Basically put I don't care if these girls go jump off of a cliff. Until they show me that they give a damn about anyone except themselves I don't care one whit about any of them. Let them suffer until they learn.
