I saw the Passion twice at the theaters and bought the DVD, but if Mel insists upon slamming the President like this, he won't see another dime from me.

Mel won't be the last conservative to disappoint you in this way. The list of non-libs who are less than impressed with Bush continues to grow.

You, my friend, have been manipulated by the writer of the article. I'd hardly call what Gibson said a "slam" by any stretch. A small dig perhaps. But not a slam.

You can't take the characterization of Gibson's remark at face value. You have to read the remark, in the proper context, and characterize it yourself. In fact, it might even help to hear the tone of voice when it was said. Perhaps the facial expression would add to our understanding.

I'm always weary of anything I read from a reporter and choose to hold back a bit, before reacting. I think we would all do well to not hyper-react to everything we read and get some perspective first.
