WEEK 12 - Olney, MD., 03-18-06: Operation Infinite FReep, LOCAL SUPPORTERS OUT NUMBER FREEPERS

Posted on 03/21/2006 7:12:42 AM PST by trooprally

The number of locals out numbered the stretched thin FReepers this week!!! FReepers from the D.C. area were in Richmond and Fayetteville representing us down there

Seven FReepers/Lurkers were in attendance: Spiff, Jimmy Valentine's Brother, [Mrs] Trooprally, myself, Lurker Lloyd, and locals Lurker Bill & Cindy-True-Supporter.

Seven locals in attendance were Steve (with crutch, just moved to Nevada and was in town briefly), Stu, and five kids who stopped by for about an hour. The kids plan on being back next week with reinforcements and will be dressed for the weather. They only had on light clothing since they didn't plan on standing on the corner. One older teen had a multitude of piercings and a first impression would not have picked him as a conservative type. Oh, did I mention that the weather was once again cold (mid 40s) and windy?.

The local American Legion was well represented. Post Commander Glen, Chaplin Frank and Adjutant Halsey were there. Glen, a Marine, is in his 80s and is an Iwo Jima vet. The other two are Korean War vets. Halsey is a Marine and Frank was in the Army.

Oh, did I mention the Quiznos mascot? The wind was blowing him around so he retired early.

But the The moonbats, Catholics and other faiths, and MOBilizing Mothers had about 38. I say Catholics because Frank was at a breakfast when he heard that the Quakers were visiting churches to get support for the protest.

The wind was one reason that the moonbats infiltrated one of our corners. Cindy-True-Supporter, [Mrs] Trooprally and myself arrived 20 minutes early and erected the banner to establish the northwest corner as ours. But with the wind, we had to stay close to the banner to hold it. So we could not occupy the large left turning lane island. The moonbats had so many people, that they had extras to spread out to this and the southeast corner.

The second reason they were at the northwest corner's left turning lane island was that Spiff drew them like a magnet. Waveman followed Spiff around and held his sign in front of Spiff because once again Spiff gave them a hard time. No matter what Waveman did, he couldn't get Spiff to turn off his loudspeaker which played patriotic music and our brave troops words of how Iraq really is improving.

After two weeks of Spiff, I think Waveman's name should be changed to Swearman. He was so upset with Spiff that he swore at him several times. Two other moonbats later came over to the island.

Spiff so irritated Waveman that as they were leaving Waveman was BARKING at us from across the street, trying to drown out Spiff's loudspeaker. It was hilarious. Waveman has a set of lungs that any Drill Instructor would envy.

But once again, we out lasted the moonbats!! They extended their protest til 5 PM this time and we matched their time.

Several cars yelled obscenities at us. But they were again neutralized by positive yells from other cars. For having more protesters than us, we still got equal or more honks and thumbs up. Honks from semi-trucks and waves from the Metro bus drivers always warm the heart. On northwest corner's turning lane island, which was occupied by both groups, it was hard to tell from my position who the cars were honking for. Cindy-True-Supporter can fill us in on any interesting stories from that corner.

The only casualty was the red banner. It was so windy that one of the supports snapped. But it did its duty till about ten minutes before we broke up. It will take just a quick fix, so not a problem.

________________________________________________

Legionnaire Frank's report is as follows with my words asterisked " * " and some of his words edited out to keep some anonymity. Frank even went to the moonbats side to talk to them --

Boy, it was windy and cold (Halsey and I both agreed it was no where near as bad as Korea was when we were there) but it was great being there for our side.

My peacenik *Catholic* friend sort of rubbed it in that we had a small turnout compared to them. I told him (them) we were there to support the troops only and not to play partisan politics as they were with all their anti Bush signs.

Father Lee is the pastor of *a local Catholic* in Olney. His parents were refugees from North Korea during the Korean War. He was born in South Korea in 1959. Fr. Lee served in the South Korean Army as an enlisted man for two or three years, I'm not sure how many years. *He* Pulled lots of duty on the DMZ.

After attending the seminary and ordained a Catholic Priest he again served in the Army as a Chaplain achieving the rank of Captain. He very thankful to the United States for all we sacrificed during the Korean War and how we rebuilt and support South Korea today.

He says the majority of older Koreans agree but the younger generations seem to want to blame the USA for all their problems. Sound familiar? ? He is always comparing the North and with the South. His favorite saying is "Freedom is not Free".

I have a great rapport with Fr. Lee as we talk about the military a lot. I was very honest with him when I told him that during my service in Korea I did not like any Koreans, North or South. I have changed considerably since I met him and many of his parishioners. He understood.

Before he left on Saturday he invited Halsey, *Cindy-True-Supporter* and myself to for dinner at a Korean restaurant in the very near future. _________________________________________________

A BIG BIG THANK YOU to all those who were able to make a Pro-Troop/Pro-Mission Rallies this past week.

A Special THANKS to those smaller, one to three FReeper groups who stood up in the face of smelly hippies.

Concretebob joined an exclusive group this week, the "3fer Group". Admission to this Group is by attending three consecutive FReeps without having a full day between them. Don't want one to catch their breath or catch up on work. Justanobody is also a member. Both are from the Richmond, VA area.

Originally, organizers of FReeps were not included as 3fers because they HAD to be there. In order to add CB to the Group, that rule was dropped. Now, as co-organizer with [Mrs] Trooprally of this Olney FReep, and with the rule drop, I also now become a member. (At the time I became a 3fer, [Mrs] T was under the weather and could not attend the FReeps that I did.)

Let us know if you are a 3fer.

Of course it is a little easier in the D.C. area to have three FReeps in a row with all the moonbats around here. It's a mixed blessing, to have dedicated FReepers in which to stand up to sooooo many moonbats.

Here's my AAR.

When I showed up, Trooprally and others were already there engaging two corners and deploying flags, signs, and the MOAB Jr. I wanted to greet the grumpy moonbats with patriotic songs from my bullhorn and crossed to their corner. As they arrived they were blasted with "Have You Forgotten", "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue", "Iraq and I Roll", and "Proud to be an American". The wild-eyed homeless looking guy with the hand scrawled "Support the troops impeach Bush" sign (I guess his nickname is waveman) was drawn like a magnet and tried to block my sign and my bullhorn with his body.

After a while of that, I noticed that the NW turn lane island in front of CindyTrueSupporter and others was not being used. I moved to that corner with sign and bullhorn and proceeded to speak truth and reason to the assembled grumpies just across from me. Waveman and two similarly shabby types moved across to the island. The two with him had signs they had scrawled with magic marker on flattened cardboard boxes. The female was wearing a Code Pink sweatshirt and carrying a sloppy sign that said "Rich Man's War, Poor WoMan's Blood". As I continued giving the moonbats a piece of my mind, the trio gathered around me and started yelling obscenities at me. I repeated what they said, although I edited a bit, for the church-going representatives in the moonbat crowd to hear so that they would know what kind of losers they are allied with in their war for America's unconditional surrender to terrorists and the states that sponsor them. I tried to get Cindy and those with her to move across to the island so that we wouldn't lose it to the shabby ones, but they had to stay there to hold up the mini-MOAB. I finally moved across to join our guys and left the island to the whackos.

I covered both of our corners at various times, holding signs and using my MP3 player/bullhorn combo to continually blast the opposition with patriotic tunes. Occasionally, waveman and his shabby trio would bark and dance on the little concrete island.

I relocated to the center median island so that my bullhorn would be more effective against the dirty trio in an attempt to dislodge them from their island. I directed the bullhorn from about 15 feet away directly at them and let them have it. Unfortunately, the wind tended to disrupt the sound aimed at them and they held their ground. I pulled out the DVD player and plugged it into the system and played a number of 30-second commercial spots from MoveAmericaForward that features troops from Iraq speaking about the successes there, officers asking those against the war where they would rather fight terror - in Iraq or right at home, as well as spouses and parents of troops who are proud of the troops' efforts and successes. I've found that these spots are VERY effective in driving the moonbats wild.

I came up with a plan to dislodge the trashy trio and bring my message directly to the grumpies across the street. I crossed with the commercials playing through the bullhorn while carrying a sign that said "Where is your protest against violent jihad!!!?" I proceeded to walk in front of the grumpies with the commercials playing. I paused in front of one angry young woman who had been holding a green sign the entire time that said "(Symbol) is patriotic". She thought she had drawn a peace symbol on the sign:

But instead she had sloppily drawn the Mercedes Benz logo:

Her response was, "So!!!?"

I told her that it made her side look even more foolish. Her response was, "And!!!? You guys are the dumb ones!"

Faced with such unassailable logic, I had no choice but to back down to her intellectual superiority.

I planted myself at the end of their line and continued to play the commercials. The grumpy woman nearest me told me to "turn it up." Another said, "keep it up." I thanked them for their invitation to continue and held my ground. That annoyed them, so another asked me to leave. I informed her that the two women nearest me had asked me to turn up the sound and to stay. The genius with the Mercedes Benz logo on her sign stepped up to get in my face. Her logic was withering. It was all I could do to hold my ground in the face of it.

Then I saw that the trashy trio were crossing the street, drawn to my activities with their core group. Seeing my plan worked, I immediately crossed back to their island while the cross walk light was still green. I held the island for a while.

When I saw that the grumpies were starting to pack up, I got back with our group on the main corner. From there I used the bullhorn to again remind the grumpy moonbats about what they were really accomplishing with their seditious street demonstrations. I told them that they were defeating their own stated purpose to stop the war as the terrorist insurgents in Iraq are actually emboldened by the anti-war demonstrations occurring in America. That they are holding out a little longer, planting just that many more IEDs, in hopes that the anti groups in the U.S. will undermine the mission and convince the government to put up the white flag and surrender. That the blood of the very solders that they pretend to support is on their hands. Flowman, the wild-eyed homeless-looking guy started hopping and literally barking. He was barking like a dog, "Woof! Woof! Woof!" We could hear his barking, diagonally across the wide street even though he was barking into the wind. What a raving lunatic. The grumpies took their treasonous toys and went home to plot ways to further undermine our country and enable our unconditional surrender to the terrorists.

It was great being out their with stalwart FReepers Trooprally and his wife, CindyTrueSupporter, Jimmy Valentine's Brother, and Lurker Bill to stand up to those who are doing everything they can to reopen the rape rooms, torture chambers, and child prisons in Iraq. To stand in opposition to those who want America to surrender to terrorism so that the terrorists will bring their efforts back onto our mainland. If it wasn't for people like these FReepers and the entire D.C. chapter, the seditious scum would stand unopposed and they may win, just as they did during the Vietnam War. We can't let that happen. Failure is not an option. If we lose this time, we don't just lose a tiny Asian country to communists, we lose our country and our civilization to those who seek to destroy it. The enemy started this war - they declared the jihad - and we're going to finish it. And those that stand in our way must not be allowed to do so without being called out and exposed for what they are and what their agenda really is.

On November 2, 2005 I was at the Military Recruiting Center in the morning from about 8:00 am for a few hours, then at the World Can't Wait rally downtown at about noon for a couple of hours. World Can't Wait then had 5 different sub rallies that day at different intersections and I went to the pro abortion intersection rally at around 5:00 for a couple more hours. I was not the organizer.

Does that qualify me to be a 3fer?

Thanks! I can't wait to come back. There are few things more fun than ruining some wild-eyed moonbat leftist's day and educating the useful misinformed idiots they've herded in to hold signs and boost their numbers.

Welcome to the club!

Thanks, everybody. What an honor! It was a very tiring day. I handed out hundreds of article printouts and slips of paper with links to information on WMD and terrorists in Iraq, not to mention Communism, of course! Here I am at the noon rally:

It just so happened that when the speeches started I was right behind the speakers rostrum holding this giant sign! What a coincidence!

Do you guys give printouts of information to the Olney moonbats?

No printouts yet but it has been thought about. Also giving a second printout aimed at supporters to passing cars who cheer us on so they can come out to support us.

We had flyers for three mid September counter protest in Olney before we became FReepers.

Appreciate the suggestion.

We have occasionally passed out info sheets at WR. Not regularly though.
