Here's a more accurate poll, which is receiving no attention from the big media:

There will be some kind of "guest worker" program but the only question is, will they have to return to their country first? I hope that regardless what they think about the "guest worker" program they get the borders secured first then crack down on enforcement even if they have to pass a separate bill to get those agreeable things done.

Sure is funny how Democrats who onced championed the cause of unions now literally have flashed their middle fingers at hard-working blue-collar workers!

The illegal flood of cheap labor has saturated the very industries which once were home to legions of Democrat voters.

How can a family man compete with a gang of Mexicans camped out 30 to a house?

That's why wages have stayed flat while the cost of gasoline and other commodities have soared in recent years.

Democrats now spit on the very people who got them elected in the first place.

They're betting on future support from new citizens from Guatamala and to you 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation American citizens.....

go to hell!!

Of course not! It doesn't support their biased agenda.

Recombinant DNA technology can take care of the need for foreign groundskeepers ~ then we don't need any of these people, right?

The countryclubers can relax.

I'm a conservative Republican and support documenting the lawfull undocumented and stronger border security.

I have a lot of compassion for people who struggle to make a living for their families. No matter where they are from. I think many Republicans feel the same way.

I cringe when so-called conservatives start making generalizations and calling "them all" criminals. It's ugly, and certainly doesn't represent my values.

There will be more Democrats taking the polls because Republicans usually hang up on the pollsters. That is the factor that renders these polls worthless.

It does not help poor Mexicans that their government's policy of "expatriate and exploit" is enabled by our lack of immigration enforcement. How would you like to be forced to move a thousand miles north to a country where you don't speak the language just to find a job?

Illegal immigrants have to leave their communities, their fathers, mothers, cousins, uncles, aunts, grandparents. They are put through a terrible experience that is caused by corruption and exploitation on both sides of the border. Illegal immigration is not compassionate.

Over $20 billion dollars each year is sent back to Mexico, where that country holds families hostage in abject poverty. The corrupt government of Mexico is propped up by the money coming back, which the corrupt politicians steal, and it prevents them from having to serve the interests of average Mexicans. Some so-called "business leaders" (people who couldn't figure out how to run an honest business) love it because they get the advantage cheap labor.

No, many Republicans don't agree with you about open borders. A few do, but the vast majority more do not.

What language did they use for taking the poll?

I don't agree with open borders. But currently it is almost impossible to get a visa or work permit, although there are many jobs. This problem doesn't only effect Mexicans.

I have a friend from Argentina who lost his work permit when the company he worked for when under. He has been here for 6 years and his papers were in the middle of being processed. If he goes back to Argentina now, he won't be allowed back for 10 years. The current policies are ridiculous. Now he is working (very hard) and can't pay taxes, because he doesn't have papers. He's a great guy and stuck between a rock and a hard place. There are many like him.

Good, hard working, family oriented people who just want to work and earn a living.

...the only question is, will they have to return to their country first?

The claim that it is impossible to force these illegals to return to their home country before applying for a visa is simply ludicruous.

I mean, these illegals had the resources and where-withall to make it to America in the first place, and that certainly must've been somewhat difficult.

After being in the land of opportunity for years, they should certainly have the resources to pick up and make the trip back to their home country, where they can apply legally for a visa into the US, if they so desire.

In addition, these border jumpers must be made to get at the end of the line from all the people who've already put in applications.

To allow these illegals to slip into the front or the middle of the application process would be diametrically opposed to everything the US stands for, which is law and order.

In last fall's gubernatorial election in Virginia, there was a TV ad for Mr. Kilgore, the Republican candidate, which asked (something like) "What part of 'illegal immigrant' don't you understand?". The answer, from the voters, was: The part that says you get to be Governor.

It should be mentioned that at the same time that Mr. Kilgore lost his election, Republican candidates were elected Lieutenant-Governor and Attorney-General.

When was the last time a candidate from Virginia won the election for governor when his party was in control of the White House? When was the last time a candidate from any party won the election for Governor by comparing his opponent to Hitler? (Politics 101: Never mention Hitler or the Nazis, never) Kilgore was a weak candidate, with a weak party position. That election had nothing to do with illegal immigration.

You have no idea what it is like to not be able to provide for yourself and your family. May you never know the desperation these people have.

You have no idea what it is like ...

Neither do you. But here's what I do know, Mexico is a country with vast natural resources and a longer growing season than anywhere in the U.S. There is no excuse for that country not being able to secure opportunities for its people. Our failure in immigration enforcement only enables them to continue their policy of "expatriate and exlpoit".

Kilgore lost because of the large number of illegal aliens that voted in Northern Virginia.

You read that right - the large number of illegal aliens that voted.

Even the local state delegates admit it is a problem, but nobody in the legislature has the guts to address it less they be called racists.
