NASCAR yesterday strongly objected to a planned series of news reports that targets race fans as potential sources of harassment of Muslim-Americans.
As part of a broad story about American attitudes toward Islam, NBC newsmagazine "Dateline" is placing Muslim and Arab-American volunteers in a variety of public places, including NASCAR races, and filming their experiences in an attempt to record discrimination or harassment.

Laura Ingraham is all over this story today.
I wish Nascar & Texas Motor Speeway would make this announcement and let all the patrons (200,000) know they may be setup by Dateline NBC!
Is Dateline going to do a story about the Brooklyn teenagers who shouted "Let's Get Whitey" before they killed him? He was a college student who was helping a homeless man at the time.
The trouble with Dateline is, they have a history of creating things where none existed--like the so-called "exploding trucks" for instance.
NBC: STAGING THE NEWS AGAIN? (seeking bearded Muslims to troll NASCAR events for "bigots")
Rubbin' is Jihadin'...
We all know only WHITE PEOPLE are racist....
Seriously....being a white male over 21 is a crime by default in this day.
Here's an idea for NBC Dateline to consider: Why not have
a few dozen Muslim terrorists walk across the track in front of 43 vehicles traveling at 200 mph? Or at least an NBC exectutive or two...
Gee I know, lets secretly place a conservative in the NBC newsroom, and watch the liberals go balistic with their hatred. Now there would be some real foaming at the mouth hate.
So NBC's looking to incite a reaction from people to push their agenda? No surprise there, just another hate-filled thing to do.
The search engine seems to be very fickle. I keep my fingers crossed when I use it :)
Last year, I remember reading that there was a Catholic priest at the Pro-Choice March along the parade route, and apparently his mere presence would incite the marchers to a continuous stream of filthy invective. Unfortunately, it was not videotaped. Next year, it should be videotaped, and it could be a real, not a staged expose.
thanks for the notice of that race. I'll be sure to stay FAR away from I-35W
You know what it's like? It's just like living like a Jew in today's America, or a Christian, or an atheist, or a Buddhist. Maybe some yahoo gives you a dirty look now and then. Big effing deal.
If SuperSizeMe or Dateline want to really see some fireworks, they should film the life of an openly Christian woman living in today's Sudan or today's Saudi Arabia.
Due to circumstances though, it will likely be a "30-minute" rather than 30-day report.
I guess that sort of reality television doesn't exactly fit into the "reality" they are trying to sell.
(I hope the NASCAR fans treat all apparently Muslim patrons at coming events like visiting royalty - just for giggles.)
This is just a semi-stealthy way of casting conservatives as racists. You won't find many liberals at a race...if there's one place you could go to find hundreds of thousands of conservatives in one place, a NASCAR race is the place to go.
I'm sure the NBC folks noticed the Color Guards, the frequent presence of active duty military personnel during pre-race ceremonies, fighter/bomber fly overs, Service Branch sponsorship of competitors, and were sickened by all that. "Looks like the Military Industrial Complex is a little to cozy with this sport, what can we do to knock 'em?"
