The bill is completely unacceptable!

Immigration is not the issue. And it can't be the issue until 1. The border is secure. Actually secure, not a handshake from the ignominious likes of Kennedy/McCain. 2. Deal with the 11+ million illegal aliens in this country. Rounding them up is ridiculous. Strong, ENFORCED sanctions on employers will dry up the jobs and the illegal aliens will self-deport.

They know its possible. If the IRS can intimidate 200 million taxpayers into giving up 30% of their hard earned dollars every year with the mere threat of an audit and possible jail time, the senators damn well know they can enforce our immigration laws.

They have no more intention of enforcing immigration laws than they do of allowing you & I to skip on paying our taxes, and in both cases their motive is exactly the same.

Graham really is a weenie and so is Frist. But Graham was just on the O'Reilly Factor with John Kyl hosted by Tony Snow. Graham promised that the Senate bill would go nowhere until the Dems stopped blocking amendments. Kyl says he has four amendments to the bill and there are others on the table. Snow pinned Graham down on that. Graham said unambiguously that the bill would not come up for a vote until votes were held on the amendments.

I know I know, more promises he'll weasel out of later. I doubt that the bill is worth spit even with the amendments but there is some fire to hold his feet to.

My greatest fears are two fold....

First -- that we have allowed the nation to be overrun with turd world entities --- and in fact have nurtured and enabled these miscreants to survive and multiply....as we have with the least capable of our own nonproductive for generations - "perpetually dependent citizens"...

This allows too significant a minority of ignorant, self-serving social leaches to achieve an effective and irresistible voting block.... Capable of voting whatever they want from your pocket...

Second -- We may have already passed the point of no return... I think we've already stepped onto the slippery slope and are descending.....

Too many turds in a pure mountain stream ---- renders it poisonous for all... We have too many turds in the national bowl already.......and no one willing to pull the handle and flush the bastards.

What folks don't seem to understand, is that once the lights of that "bright city on the hill" go out -- there is NO ONE in the world that can relight them... It will remain dark for eons....

The borders are enforced in Korea. A gnat couldn't get through there. The Chinese were pretty successful in securing the border in Tibet having just come into the country with one dirt road miles north of the Indian border. Are 11,000 ft. Himalayan passes easier to cross than the mountains and deserts of AZ? Does Switzerland have trouble controlling their borders? Do the French bitch about Switzerland controlling their borders? Do the Swiss care if they do?

You are so right. I have said the same thing before. What our forefathers accomplished in 1776 was done by the barest whisper of hope within the slimmest of windows of opportunity. Once it's gone the chances of it being done again are just a fraction of this side of impossible.

I totally agree, even if you think FristMcCain is a good idea there are zero enforcement provisions so all 12 million Mexican illegals will become citizens AND the flow from Mexico to the SW will become even greated because this sends the message that we just dont care, in 50 California Arizona New Mexico and Texas will be foreign countries.
