It because of these shared features (epicanthic fold, MDS, Size, Color and unusual features) that it is surmised that the Khoisan are the most ancient physical type existing today (along with Negritos which range from the Pygmys of the Congo to the Andamman Islanders to small populations in SE Asia to those in the Philipines, including the recently discovered "hobbits" in Indonesia).
Blam, I have read so much anthro over the years that I don't know where I read that the Khoisan are the precursers to Asians and Africans.
I haven't read that but don't doubt it. The humans alive today with the oldest DNA are the Oorang Asli people of Malaysia according to Professor Stephen Oppenheimer.
