"Many of the marchers were not undocumented immigrants, but legal residents and U.S. citizens who are angry at the Sensenbrenner bill, and at the wave of Latin bashing that has filled the air waves over the past two years."

Totally speculative.

Pretty much all the naturalized citizens and green carded LEGALS that I know are very much resentful of the illegals, and even more resentful of the possible (likely) amnesty.

One green-carded lady I know has been trying to take her citizenship test for 18 years, but the INS/ICE keeps losing her paperwork, putting her off, even actually told her to quit calling and writing to them.

My guess is that tens if not hundreds of thousands of good people like her are in the same situation. THEY have jumped through all the bureaucratic hoops, tried to do everything legally and see millions of people without respect for the laws of this country coming up here and demanding (and probably being given) the things they have been trying, to achieve for decades.

And most of the older 'hispanics' I know; Many of them people whose families have been in this area since the original Spanish Land Grant days, don't much care for the illegals either.

About the only American citizens of 'hispanic descent' or green carded Legals that I know personally that are FOR illegal immigration are the young ones who have been indoctrinated by leftist 'white' teachers or by their 'peers': (Young, recently arrived Aztlan gangbanger types;) People who don't have the values of their parents and forebearers, people who worked at and were proud of being AMERICANS, not people who are escaping from third world hellholes, yet want to recreate that same hellhole culture in the USA..
