Bills aimed at illegal immigrants move forward [Tennessee]

NASHVILLE--Bills that would punish employers of illegal immigrants and make it tougher for illegal immigrants to get driver's licenses are moving forward in the General Assembly.

Legislation that would require all written driver's license examinations be given in English was referred to the House Transportation Committee on Tuesday. The Senate version is scheduled for a floor vote this week.

The bill's House sponsor, Rep. Tom Dubois, said six states have passed similar legislation. He said his main concern is for the safety of other drivers.

"I want to make sure folks that are driving on the roads can read signs, like construction road signs," the Columbia Republican said

However, the Senate sponsor has said part of his reason for supporting the bill is to prevent undocumented immigrants from fraudulently getting certificates for driving or licenses.

The Department of Safety stopped issuing driving certificates to illegal immigrants last month, after federal investigators found rings shuttling in immigrants from other states to get them.

After they started this program, Bredeson said he couldn't stop it because the state would lose too much revenue. This was only about 9 months ago.

What a joke.

I live in TN. Someone used to truck people in here to get TN drivers licenses when they could get them nowhere else. When the TBI finally started to crack down on it, the key witness set herself and her car on fire in a "Tennicide." Her crime? She was caught doing DLs for out of state arabs and registering them as Democrats. They would then move back to (I think NC) and use the TN DL to get a local one. This was discovered just before 9/11 and she died shortly thereafter.

DMV CLERK ISSUED FAKE IDS
AP April 13, 2006

A former worker at a Department of Motor Vehicles office in Bridgeport, Conn., has pleaded guilty to charges of issuing hundreds of phony licenses. Tracy Lucas-Stevenson, 31, of Stratford, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Superior Court to charges of receiving bribes, forgery and racketeering. She and two female colleagues had begun selling a few licenses to illegal aliens working locally, police said.

The operation soon grew to dozens of licenses and IDs being sold every day by the women, they said. By the summer of 2004, police said, the trio had sold 1,579 driver's licenses and 930 ID's, at an average of $100 per card. Lucas-Stevenson faces up to 10 years in prison.

FREEPER ACTIVISM

If the state of Tenn (and other towns within the purview of those reading this) are spending tax funds for illegal purposes, the investors and holders of tax-exempt
bonds for transportation and highways, municipal school bonding, utilities bonding, and the like, have been placed in financial jeopardy. The SEC should be advised of yours, and bondholders, concerns. EMAIL enforcement@SEC.gov

FREEPER ACTIVISM

If duly elected officials are demanding and encouraging ILLEGALS to break the law, to obtain the unlawful right to vote by issuing drivers' licenses, and if elected and appointed officals did, in fact, allow illegals to break the law using phony documentation, this might be a violation of the Hobbs Act...... If elected and appointed officials took campaign contributions from said illegals, this could be characterized as extortion, and/or bribery, and a violation of the Hobbs Act.

The Hobbs Act was used recently to nail four Tenn state legislators and their aids in an extortion scheme. The TENN groups was arrested under the federal Hobbs Act, charging extortion, conspiracy to extort and attempted extortion, and accepting bribes by an agent of the state. The Hobbs Act covers extortion by public officials, as follows: 2403 Hobbs Act -- Extortion By Force, Violence, or Fear.

Knowing Tenn. and Gov Bredesen, the state will change all the road signs to Spanish and, it will be the Americans duty to learn Spanish.
