Take that, Stanford. Two San Jose State students have been asked by the White House to represent budding Silicon Valley engineering talent and rub shoulders with President Bush on Friday when he visits Cisco Systems.
College of Engineering Dean Belle Wei said she got a call Tuesday from a valley ``Republican heavyweight,'' asking for names.
Wei said she thinks SJSU got the call because ``we have normal students, not Stanford students, privileged students.'' After all, Bush is in town to tout his plan for keeping American industry competitive in the computer age.
Wei has tapped two of her top students, Arash Shokouh, 24, and Marisa Jimenez, 20, both of San Jose.
Nice sound bite. Well, not only is Shokouh majoring in computer engineering with a minor in math, he's getting a second minor in . . . film acting.
He said he hasn't a clue what he will chat with the president about. But he is wearing a nice suit to ``look good in front of the cameras.''
As a minority student who grew up in San Jose and Mexico, she is proud to get the opportunity ``to make us look good,'' she said.
But her friends want her to deliver a different message: ``Tell him to do something about the gas prices.''

Has Bush already been impeached? Sentenced to die? And did these students have the temerity to speak in his defense?

battle between the liberal elite, and the liberal more elite...

``Tell him to do something about the gas prices.'' She obviously doesn't know anything about economics, though. What's the President going to do? Go out wild-catting? Repeal supply and demand?
But eating a Mexican diet, I can think of something she probably often does that will increase the supply of gas...

"2 San Jose State University students to hang with Bush"
That's a typical MSM headline. I thought at first it said "students to hang Bush."

What's the President going to do? Go out wild-catting? Repeal supply and demand?Send the National Guard out to drill ANWR, build 12 new oil refineries, and 50 new nuclear reactors? It would work, but there is a little problem concerning Constitutional authority, of course...

When I was commuting by bus I met some Stanford students. They were very, very nice, regular types, w/o too much money, and
conservatives!
We do have conservatives here in lib land, the libs just yell more loudly.
