Former U.S. Sen. Max Cleland of Georgia, who lost both legs and an arm in the Vietnam War, on Saturday blasted the Bush administration's handling of the war in Iraq as immoral.
"It is immoral to abuse the good nature of our young people, and send them back and back and back (into combat) ... with no strategy to win, and no strategy to end" the war, Cleland said.
After Cleland's short speech, Clark - an Arkansas native who sought the Democratic Party's nomination for president in 2004 - returned to the microphone briefly, turning to cast his eyes on the names of the Arkansans who died in Vietnam.

Surely, that grenade that Cleland foolishly picked up left some shrapnel in his brain, specifically those areas affecting one's logic and judgment.

Former U.S. Sen. Max Cleland of Georgia, who lost both legs and an arm in the Vietnam War If they are going to include that they need to include the entire truth! That makes it sound as if he lost his limbs fighting which he didn't. It was an accident in Vietnam, not in the war.

with no strategy to win, and no strategy to end" the war, Whereas the Dems have a strategy to end it, but not one to win it.

The left wouldn't like it if the story said... "Who lost both legs and an arm when he stupidly picked up a grenade he found on the ground while drinking beer".
I saw cleland on TV the other day spouting nonsense. I have no sympathy for him whatsoever.

Cleland was injured playing with grenades not in battle.

What's immoral are the actions of people like Max Cleland, John Kerry, Wesley Clark, and others criticizing and condemning our President and nation while we are at war. I'm sorry Max Cleland lost his arms and legs, but he didn't lose them in battle, and he is not an expert on war, nor are the other two mentioned. Wesley Clark was not well thought of by his superiors, and it was Billy Clinton who promoted him....without merit!

From what I've heard, the grenade wasn't just accidentally rolling on the ground.
Some of his antics might have just caused someone to roll it his way...I'm just saying

Looks like the Democrats are responding to the news about Mary McCarthy.
To: jmc1969
No, what's "immoral" is trying to claim you're a war hero when in fact you blew yourself up with a mishandled grenade......
