"I was switched off her as soon as I heard she used to carry around a vial of Billy Bob Thorton's blood around her neck as a token of their mutual affection.

Anything she says must be regarded with some degree of suspicion."

Indeed. Isn't she also an admitted bi-sexual who had a tryst with her step-brother? Gross.
Pretty is as pretty does.

Maybe we can address global NCLB once amnesty gets passed.

Didn't actor Michael Douglas make an interesting comment about Brad Pitt "leaving that beautiful girl he was with to carry Angelina Jolie's orphans around the world"? Ha ha ha.

I was actually just being a little silly (using Bush's immigration line), but to answer your question, probably yes....

I believe something was said about that on FR previously, yes. I also believe that Billy Bob said something about wanting to strangle her, and she reacting positively to the suggestion.

I forget who said it, but a saying goes, "It's always tempting to impute, unlikely virtues to the cute".

Not enough antibiotics in all the earth to make that appealing IMHO.

That's when Jolie went global: "Britain gives three-times more than us right now. They are not richer than us. So I don't know what the great excuse is."

Maybe she should become a British subject and pay their taxes!

The Rolling Stones canceled tour dates in Europe because of taxes, but did the full American circuit and they sure make three times as much as she does... Maybe she should talk to those British entertainers... maybe even Irish entertainers like Bono...

I love these Hollywood types who jet around the world, spending God knows how much on jet fuel, hotel rooms in exclusive resorts, Lord knows how much on other luxuries, all the while telling everyone else to reach into their pockets to help "the poor." Brad Pitt spent 3 years building a house with Jennifer Aniston that cost over 30 million dollars, only to dump the house and Aniston for Jolie, who no doubt had no problem breaking up Pitt's marriage. I am supposed to take life lessons from these characters? I've known too many actors up close and personal to take these people seriously....

This is about as likely as Angelina extending herself to me.

Why in the world would anyone want Angelina "extending herself" to them? Probably been more people thru there than Grand Central Station. Would be like throwing hot dogs down a hallway.

I don't mind them dropping cash on the locals as they flit around the world. I hope the locals rip them off.

I do mind very much that they are disconnected from what we call "reality", and yet still feel entitled to lecture the rest of us on how we ought to live.

"I was switched off her as soon as I heard she used to carry around a vial of Billy Bob Thorton's blood around her neck as a token of their mutual affection."

She seems to have an affinity for blood. She showed up at her first wedding to Johnny Miller wearing black leather pants and a white t-shirt with the groom's name written across it with her own blood. The marriage lasted about 6 months.

My own personal favorite is her tatooing the words "Billy Bob" on her left biceps after marrying her soulmate. How times have changed. How far would Katherine Hepburn have gotten with "Spencer" tatooed on her arm?

I think her idea is fabulous. Now all we need to do is figure out a way to pay for it. I have a solution.

We currently have income taxes (which tax the productive) and consumption taxes (which tax the needy regardless of income or wealth). Where is the social justice? What about taxing people who have lots and lots of money, but don't spend it?

That's why I propose the REALLY Fair Tax. It's a tax on assets, not income or spending. Soak the rich, as it were.

Simply add up the current market value of all your assets and subtract your debt. Then tax on this schedule by bracket:

- Up to $1,000,000 - zero

- From $1,000,000 to $9,000,000 - Tax 50%

- Over $9,000,000 - Tax 100%

Apply the tax on December 31 of every year ending in 6.

Examples:

Worth = $800,000 Tax = zero

Worth = $3,000,000 Tax = $1,000,000

Worth = $10,000,000,000 Tax = $9,995,000,000

That means nobody gets to keep more than $5,000,000. That will ensure social justice for all.

Now let's see how enthusiastic these rich Hollywood stars are about spending our money!

nclb has gotten bad publicity but apparently is working well. I have liberal kinfolk working in Florida public schools (since the late 60's) and they gripe and complain about GW and Jebs education plans but you cant argue with results. Florida education is improving immensely thanks mostly to Jebs efforts in the face of the NEA and local school boards. Someone last night took a shot at this last night on fr and I posted a comment after looking at the nclb stats

As for Jolie. She doesn't seem to have much restraint over her affections but some of her affections are in the right place; such as her volunteering with orphans and special needs kids in poverty areas. I think she has done work alongside Kevin max of DCTalk which is why I think her efforts in that area are decent.

I've always thought Angelina Jolie should be appointed to the United Nations' schools superintendent position. She could be the schools superintendent for the World! As we all know, she is a very wise policy maker and clearly understands the mechanics of educating children and funding that education.

We should all give a little more indeed.
